The creators of Euphoria have provided an update on the much-awaited season three of the show. According to an announcement, production for the new season is scheduled to begin in January 2025. This news comes after several delays, including one that was planned for March this year. The creator, Sam Levinson, had stated that the script was still in progress, causing the postponement.

On Friday, Francesca Orsi, the head of HBO programming, shared an official statement regarding the upcoming season of Euphoria. She said, “I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”

The cast members will include the original actors, Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Colman Domingo. Fans can also expect to see Eric Dane, Maude Apatow, Storm Reid, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer, Nika King, and Dominic Fike return to their roles. The actors had been allowed to take on other roles in different shows and movies due to the extended break.

Euphoria is a show that follows the lives of a group of young adults as they navigate love, heartbreak, and addiction. The logline of the show describes it as a story about “a group of high school students struggling with drugs, love, social media, and money as they come of age while trying to establish their identity.”

The first season of Euphoria premiered in December 2019, and the second season was released in 2022. The third season was initially planned for release in 2023, but it faced delays due to a writer’s strike and the tragic death of Angus Cloud, one of the leading actors on the show. As of now, there is no confirmed release date for season three.

Since the announcement of the third season, the regular cast members of Euphoria have been busy with other projects. For instance, Eric Dane signed up for the Prime Video series Countdown alongside Jensen Ackles and Jessica Camacho.
