The Barone family is coming back for another helping. CBS has officially scheduled Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion Pt. 2 for Monday, December 22. The one-hour special will air on CBS at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. For viewers who prefer to stream, the special will be available on Paramount+ beginning on the same date, December 22.

The decision to create this second part comes after the first reunion special, which aired on November 24, was a major success. The original special attracted an impressive 10.08 million viewers across its initial broadcast, a later encore, and streaming platforms.

Unseen Footage and Exclusive Content You Will See in Part 2

Hosted once again by star Ray Romano and series creator Phil Rosenthal, Part 2 is designed as a bonus hour featuring a wealth of material that did not make the final cut of the first special. The special was filmed in October on a meticulously recreated version of the Barone family’s living room set.

The new footage comes from the same live audience taping that produced the first special. Romano revealed that the original event lasted nearly three hours, meaning a significant amount of conversation and interaction was edited down for the initial 90-minute broadcast.

Here are some of the exclusive segments fans can expect to see in Part 2:

  • A Tribute to Their Fathers: A personal segment where Romano and Rosenthal discuss their own fathers, both of whom had guest roles on the show as friends from the Elks Lodge.
  • First Impressions of the Set: Footage capturing Romano and Rosenthal’s genuine reactions as they walked onto the rebuilt Raymond set for the first time.
  • Extended Audience Banter: More of the opening comedy routine Ray Romano performed for the live studio audience.
  • More Behind-the-Scenes Insights: Pre-taped interviews with guest stars, writers, and producers that offer new stories about the show’s creation and legacy.

The Cast Returning for the Second Reunion Special

The core cast from the first special will return for Part 2, all gathering once more on the famous set. The surviving main cast members participating include:

  • Ray Romano as Ray Barone
  • Patricia Heaton as Debra Barone
  • Brad Garrett as Robert Barone
  • Monica Horan as Amy MacDougall-Barone
  • Madylin Sweeten as Ally Barone
  • Sullivan Sweeten as Michael Barone

The first special included a tribute to the beloved cast members who have passed away: Doris Roberts (Marie), Peter Boyle (Frank), and Sawyer Sweeten (Geoffrey). Their absence continues to be felt, and the spirit of their characters remains a central part of the show’s legacy.

Why CBS Decided to Release a Second Reunion Special

The creation of Part 2 is a direct response to the overwhelming popularity of the first special. With millions of viewers tuning in, CBS and the production team recognized there was both an audience demand and a large amount of high-quality unused material.

Ray Romano himself expressed a desire to share more of the filmed content. In an interview, he mentioned he and Rosenthal had asked about an expanded version for Paramount+ because “thereโ€™s so much more good stuff” that fans would enjoy.

The special is produced by Fulwell Entertainment, the same company behind the first reunion and other major specials like Friends: The Reunion. The executive producers include Ray Romano, Phil Rosenthal, and several Fulwell partners.
