Soobin, a member of TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), has paused his activities due to health issues, leading to strong criticism from fans directed at the group’s agency, HYBE.
HYBE’s Announcement About Soobin’s Health
On November 19th KST, HYBE released a statement through Weverse, explaining Soobin’s situation:
“Soobin showed symptoms of poor health and visited a hospital, where doctors recommended rest. Prioritizing the artist’s health, we discussed his future activities with Soobin and the other members and decided he will take a break for the time being.”
As a result, Soobin will not attend several high-profile events, including:
- The MAMA Awards
- Japan’s offline fan events
- The encore concert Act: Sweet Mirage Encore in Japan
- The Shanghai fan signing event
Fans Express Frustration Over Idol Schedules
Fans were quick to voice their concerns, criticizing HYBE for allegedly overworking TXT members. Some comments included:
- “At this point, the entire group needs rest.”
- “Having over 10 schedules a day—it’s odd if they don’t burn out.”
- “There have been warning signs like high fever, indigestion, and nosebleeds, yet the agency failed to provide adequate care.”
Health Concerns Extend Beyond Soobin
Fans’ frustrations were compounded by previous health issues experienced by other TXT members. Examples include:
- Huening Kai leaving a concert mid-performance two weeks ago due to indigestion.
- Yeonjun preparing for year-end music shows last year while receiving IV treatment.
- Beomgyu missing performances during their world tour due to health concerns, even stepping out of an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
Other HYBE artists have also faced health-related suspensions, further fueling the criticism. Instances include:
- Hyein (NewJeans)
- Eunchae (LE SSERAFIM)
- Wonhee (ILLIT)
- Baek Jiheon (fromis_9)
- Harua (&TEAM)
- Jihoon (TWS)
Broader Criticism of HYBE’s Artist Management
Fans from other fandoms joined the conversation, condemning the agency’s approach to idol scheduling. Some remarked:
- “If the company prioritized the artists’ health, this wouldn’t happen.”
- “Do they only see their artists as money-making machines?”
- “Scheduling without checking their physical conditions is the root of the problem.”
