Yulhee, a former member of the K-pop group LABOUM, has signed an exclusive contract with Highbeam Studio, according to industry insiders on November 15.

Yulhee Reflects on Personal Growth

In a recent YouTube video titled Hiking on her channel Yulhee’s House, she opened up about her personal journey, sharing insights into her life and decisions over the past year.

“I used to manage things by being alone, reading books, sleeping, or chatting with my best friend. But now, I want to relieve stress in a healthier way. When I’m out in nature, I don’t have time for negative thoughts. Honestly, over the past year, I let a lot of things slip by. So, as this year comes to a close, I decided it’s not too late to find a healthier version of myself. I hope I can recover. I want to keep doing things I haven’t tried before to reconnect with Kim Yulhee.”

Yulhee also reflected on her divorce and its impact on her identity.

“In a way, divorce doesn’t change who I am, before or after. I’m still the same person, but my situation has changed. I think I kept trying to erase myself. Maybe it was because those were painful memories, but I felt that erasing those memories would help me move forward without hurting. I thought a lot about this over the past year. ‘I don’t think I abandoned my children, but will they ever understand that? Was I too narrow-minded to get through it? If I were really committed to being their mom, should I have accepted this situation?’”

Setting the Record Straight

Yulhee expressed confidence in her decision to divorce despite facing public criticism.

“I don’t regret the decision to divorce. Because of all the speculation and criticism, I don’t regret it. I really want to say that I’m living my life happily without losing my role as a mother to my kids. I spoke out because I wanted to set the record straight. I’ve lived, and still live, as a mother who’s not ashamed in front of my kids. I didn’t want to be a mom they couldn’t be proud of.”

The singer also shared messages of encouragement for others facing similar challenges:

“After this happened, I received so many messages. There were so many people who shared similar pain, wounds, or situations. More than I expected. I want to encourage people, especially those who might still be struggling to find their direction. I didn’t know how to handle things back then, and that’s why I went through what I did. Through Yulhee’s Home, I want to use my channel to encourage all of you as well.”

A New Chapter

Yulhee married former F.T. Island member Choi Min Hwan in 2018, and the couple has three children—a son and two daughters. After five years of marriage, they announced their divorce in December 2023. Now, with her new agency partnership and her ongoing YouTube channel, Yulhee is focusing on rebuilding and sharing her journey.
