Former Momoland’s Daisy Speaks Out: Shocking Revelations About Unfair Practices and Hidden Issues Within the K-pop Idol Industry

Former Momoland's Daisy Speaks Out: Shocking Revelations About Unfair Practices and Hidden Issues Within the K-pop Idol Industry

Former Momoland member Daisy has ignited a wave of discussion within the K-pop community by openly discussing some of the less talked about practices of the idol industry. In a recent broadcast on her personal channel, Daisy shared her experiences, bringing to light issues like plastic surgery during breaks, staff involvement in signing documents, and the use of pre-recorded audio during performances.

Plastic Surgery During Hiatuses

One of the significant points Daisy raised was the prevalence of idols undergoing plastic surgery during periods of inactivity. She claimed that many idols utilize hiatuses caused by injuries or other reasons as opportunities to get cosmetic procedures. This revelation offers a behind-the-scenes look at the pressures and expectations surrounding appearance in the K-pop world.

Staff Involvement in Official Documents

Daisy also made a serious allegation regarding the signing of official documents. She disclosed instances where staff members would sign documents on behalf of idols, seemingly without the direct consent or involvement of the idols themselves. This raises questions about autonomy and contractual agreements within the industry.

The Reality of On-Stage Performances

Another aspect Daisy touched upon was the use of pre-recorded audio during live performances. She alleged that Augmented Reality (AR) audio soundtracks are frequently used, especially during high-energy performances, to give the impression of live singing. This practice, if widespread, could potentially shape the audience’s perception of an idol’s vocal abilities during dynamic routines.

Reactions and Past Controversies

Following Daisy’s statements, online reactions from fans have been varied. Some expressed that her claims, while surprising, reflect a reality they had suspected, labeling them “shocking but realistic.” Others, however, voiced criticism, suggesting that her revelations could negatively impact fellow idols.

Daisy’s past experiences also came into the spotlight. Her dating controversy in 2019 with iKON member Song Yun Hyeong saw conflicting statements from their respective agencies, with MOMOLANDโ€™s agency confirming the relationship and YG Entertainment denying it. Daisy believes this situation contributed to her eventual departure from MOMOLAND.

She maintained that her exit was not voluntary, stating she was never informed beforehand about being dismissed. In contrast, MLD Entertainment cited health and personal reasons for her hiatus. Daisy refuted this, claiming she intended to return to the group but was never given the chance.

Furthermore, Daisy made a significant financial claim, stating that the 70 million KRW production cost of Mnetโ€™s audition program ‘Finding MOMOLAND’ was included in her financial settlement without her agreement. MLD Entertainment countered this by asserting that all contracts were legally agreed upon with parental consent.

Currently, Daisy is pursuing her career independently through her personal channel, where she actively communicates with her fans.
