How to Watch Frauds Season 1 Episode 2

For those who missed the live broadcast, Frauds is easy to catch up with. The entire six-episode series is available to stream for free on ITVX. Viewers in the UK can sign in to watch, with an option for an ITVX Premium subscription to view without advertisements.

The show follows a unique release pattern. New episodes will air on Sunday and Monday evenings over three weeks. This means fans can enjoy the story with minimal waiting, or choose to binge-watch all episodes immediately on ITVX.

The Story So Far and What Happens Next

The series stars Suranne Jones as Bert, a terminally ill con artist recently released from prison after a ten-year sentence, and Jodie Whittaker as Sam, her guilt-ridden former partner who has been living a quiet life.

The first episode saw Bert track down Sam and pull her back into the criminal world. Episode 2, titled “Episode 2,” sees Bert reveal her master plan for a final heist. However, Sam knows that nothing is ever simple with Bert. The official description from ITV states that “a shock discovery threatens to derail the heist,” putting their already fragile friendship to the test.

The chemistry between the two lead actors is a central part of the show. Suranne Jones told ITV that the show’s heart lies, “Not just in the scams, but in the bond between two women who know they’re running out of time.”

Jodie Whittaker, speaking to Radio Times, added that what drew her to the role was; “The messiness of friendship – how loyalty and regret can exist in the same breath.”

Meet the Cast and Characters

Frauds features a talented ensemble cast that brings the world of the show to life. The main characters include:

  • Suranne Jones as Roberta “Bert,” the daring con artist with a terminal illness.
  • Jodie Whittaker as Sam, Bert’s former partner who is reluctantly pulled back into a life of crime.
  • Elizabeth Berrington as Jackie Diamond, a magician’s assistant turned forger.
  • Karan Gill as Bilal, a skilled but nervous art forger.
  • Talisa Garcia as Miss Take, the duo’s formidable ex-mentor.
  • Lee Boardman as The Great Diavolo, a magician and Jackie’s partner.
  • Abdul Salis as Mateo, who runs a drag bar with Miss Take.
  • Christian Cooke as Deegs, a dangerous loan shark.
  • Kate Fleetwood as Celine, a wealthy client.
  • Nansi Nsue as Amaya, a police detective on Bert and Sam’s trail.

The series is set against the backdrop of southern Spain, which adds a cinematic quality to the heist thriller. Reflecting on the international production, lead director Giulia Gandini said: “[It was] very interesting, just the mixture of UK casting and Spanish casting that we had to do because obviously a lot of the characters that come in more in the forefront later on in the show, they’re Spanish, they’re Spain-based. It was great energy from the people that we worked with in the UK and the people that we found in Spain.”

What to Expect from the Rest of the Season

With six episodes in total, the story of Bert and Sam’s final heist is just beginning. The release schedule for the remaining episodes on ITV1 is as follows:

  • Episode 5: Sunday, October 19 at 9 p.m.
