The second season of Gangs of Galicia dropped on Netflix on April 3, 2026, bringing back the intense Spanish crime drama for six new episodes. Three years have passed since the events of season one, and former lovers Ana and Daniel find themselves on opposite sides of Galicia’s drug war. The finale delivers a crushing ending where love loses to survival, and one character makes a deal with the police that changes the fate of everyone involved.
The Netflix original series, titled Clanes in Spanish, takes place in the coastal town of Cambados. The new season shows Ana (Clara Lago) returning to the drug world she tried to escape, this time working with the enemies of the Padín family. Daniel (Tamar Novas) , heir to the Padín crime empire, agrees to one last job at sea to help his father José María Padín (Miguel de Lira) , who is losing control of his territory to new rivals.
Ana Works Against the Padíns While Daniel Tries to Protect His Family
The second season brings new faces to the drug trade. Luis Zahera joins the cast as Paco “El Curilla” , a powerful trafficker who wants to remove the Padíns from power. Paco teams up with Macario to set up a large drug operation in Cambados. Ana leads this operation from the inside, hiding her true loyalties from everyone, including Daniel.
Daniel does not know that Ana is working against his family. He spends the season trying to complete his father’s final drug shipment while keeping his relationship with Ana and their daughter alive. The tension builds throughout the six episodes as both characters lie to each other while facing threats from the police and rival gangs.
The season shows how hard it is to leave the crime world. Ana came back to Cambados to stop running from her problems. But instead of finding peace, she gets pulled deeper into the violence. Daniel wants a crime-free life with Ana and their child, but his loyalty to his father keeps dragging him back to the ocean for drug runs.
Drug Deal Goes Wrong and Police Close In on Everyone
Everything falls apart during a drug hand-off that goes bad. Paco steals the shipment, making the Padíns look weak. The police watch every move, waiting for the right moment to arrest the entire operation. Nilo (Xosé Antonio Touriñán) makes a rushed decision that brings the police right to their doorstep.
The raid happens fast. Police storm the drug den and arrest Ana. At the same time, Daniel pulls a gun on Paco in a public place, leading to his own arrest. Both lovers end up in custody, but their paths split from there.
The police see an opportunity. They pressure Ana to testify against Paco and Macario. At first, she refuses because she fears for her family’s safety. But the police make a threat that changes her mind. They tell her they will send Daniel to a prison filled with Colombian criminals where he would face serious danger. With her daughter’s father at risk, Ana agrees to cooperate.
Ana Accepts Police Deal but Daniel Refuses to Betray His Family
Ana gives the police information about Macario, leading to his arrest. She also helps them find evidence against Paco, who gets taken down when workers at his father’s nursing home discover something incriminating. The police keep their word and protect Daniel, but only if he also agrees to testify against his own family.
This is where the season reaches its most painful moment. The police offer Daniel a spot in witness protection. He can walk free, but only if he betrays the Padín name and gives up everyone he loves. Daniel faces a simple choice: freedom without his family, or prison with his honor.
Daniel refuses the deal. He stays quiet and takes the blame for his actions. He accepts that he will go to prison rather than turn against his father and the family legacy. His choice means he loses Ana and their daughter, but he keeps his loyalty to the Padíns.
“Daniel, however, refuses to take the police’s deal and refuses to hand Ana or the Padin crime empire over for his own sake. One word and he might betray everyone he loves, and it would be for no reason. So he keeps quiet and takes the blame, eventually accepting his faults and being sent to prison.”

José María Padín Gets Shot But Survives the Attack
The finale includes a major shock for the Padín family. José María Padín gets shot multiple times by Paco’s gang while sitting at a cafe. Earlier in the season, he received a metastasis diagnosis, leading many viewers to believe this would be his end. But the shooting happens before the illness can take him.
An ambulance rushes him away, and he survives the attack. The show does not confirm who ordered the hit, but Paco and Macario are the main suspects. With both rivals now arrested, José María’s survival leaves the door open for a possible third season.
The season ends with Ana leaving Cambados safely with her mother and daughter. She made the deal with the police and helped take down the rival gang, but the cost was high. She lost Daniel to prison and burned every bridge with the Padín family. Daniel sits in a cell, having chosen loyalty over love. José María Padín clings to life in a hospital bed, his empire damaged but still standing.
The final scene shows Ana driving away from Cambados, free but alone. Daniel watches from behind bars, knowing he will not see his daughter grow up. The season ends without giving anyone a happy ending. Everyone paid a price for their choices.
Gangs of Galicia Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix worldwide. All six episodes are available for viewers in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, India, and other regions. The series carries an original Spanish audio track with subtitles available in multiple languages.
