What to Expect in the New Season

Season 2 continues to follow young parents Georgie and Mandy as they navigate work, family, and their relationship.

A major storyline involves Georgie and his business partner, Ruben. After taking over the family tire shop, they constantly disagree on how to run the business. Georgie has big, ambitious plans, including rebranding the store as Dr. Tire—a name fans will recognize from The Big Bang Theory as Georgie’s future successful chain. Series co-creator Steve Holland confirmed this is a deliberate nod to the character’s destiny, stating, > “Georgie has this name in the back of his mind, and it’s a nod to his future success.”

Meanwhile, Mandy is pursuing her career as a weather presenter. Her new boss is her ex-boyfriend, Scott, which creates a new source of tension for the couple. Georgie’s insecurities about their past relationship are expected to cause problems, especially when Mandy and Scott are required to take an overnight trip for work.

The season will also explore other family dynamics. Jim, Mandy’s father, struggles to find purpose in his retirement. Additionally, Mary Cooper, Georgie’s mother, begins to consider dating again for the first time since the death of her husband, a decision that Georgie initially has a hard time accepting.
