Sooyoung’s Tribute to Park Ji Ah
On October 2, Sooyoung posted a black-and-white photograph of the late actress along with several images and a behind-the-scenes clip from their time working together on the stage play Wife. Sooyoung expressed her grief and fond memories in the post, stating, “Our winter was so warm and happy… Thank you, Nora!” The name “Nora” refers to the character that Park Ji Ah portrayed in the play.
Park Ji Ah’s Career and Passing
Park Ji Ah, who rose to fame through her role as Song Hye Kyo’s estranged mother in The Glory, passed away due to complications from a cerebral infarction. The time of her passing was confirmed as 2:50 AM KST on September 30. Her mortuary was arranged in Room 2 at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, with her funeral taking place on October 2 at 10 AM KST.
Several actors, including Park Sung Hoon, Jung Sung-il, Kim Hieora, and Kim Gun-woo, who worked alongside Park Ji Ah in The Glory, attended the funeral to pay their final respects.
Park Ji Ah’s Acting Journey
Park Ji Ah’s acting career began after graduating from the Seoul Institute of the Arts. She made her official debut with the film The Coast Guard and appeared in earlier works like Oh! Lala Sisters and Bus Stop. Over the years, she became recognized for her performances in various dramas, including Judge vs. Judge, Bloody Heart, and Cleaning Up. Her last appearance was in the disaster film Hijacking 1971, which was released in June 2024.
