A new collaboration between two tech giants is bringing a scene from a hit sci-fi show directly into the Google search bar. Fans searching for Apple TV’s new series Pluribus are met with a special message straight from the show’s storyline.
When you type “Pluribus” into Google Search, a line of text scrolls across the screen just below the search box. The message reads, “What are you searching for, Carol?” This interactive feature mimics the constant, knowing communication the main character experiences from the show’s hive mind.
The Show Behind the Search Easter Egg
Pluribus is a new science fiction drama on Apple TV+ from Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. The series stars Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka, a fantasy romance author who becomes one of only thirteen people on Earth immune to a mysterious alien virus.
The virus has merged the rest of humanity into a peaceful and content hive mind known as “the Joining” or the “Others.” The show follows Carol as she navigates this new world, with the connected population constantly aware of her and determined to make her happy. The title Pluribus comes from the Latin phrase “e pluribus unum,” which means “out of many, one.”
The first two episodes of the series premiered on November 7, 2025. New episodes are released weekly, though the schedule was adjusted for the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. The show has already been renewed for a second season.
How the Google Easter Egg Works
The special search result is simple to find. By going to Google’s website or using the search app and typing the word “pluribus,” users will see the scrolling text appear at the top of the results page. The message scrolls in from the right side of the screen.
This feature is known as an Easter eggโa hidden message or feature intentionally placed in software for users to discover. Google has a history of adding these playful elements for popular movies and TV shows.

Why This Easter Egg is Meaningful
The scrolling question perfectly mirrors the core premise of Pluribus. In the show, the hive mind is always watching Carol and communicates with her directly, often through screens or phone calls, offering help and reassurance. The Google Easter egg recreates this experience for the viewer, breaking the fourth wall by addressing them directly as “Carol” at the very moment they are searching for information about the show.
This makes the promotion uniquely immersive. It transforms a routine online search into a brief, personal interaction with the show’s universe, giving fans a small taste of what the main character experiences.
Release Schedule for Pluribus
The first four episodes of Pluribus are available to stream now on Apple TV+. The service requires a subscription, which costs $12.99 per month.
The fifth episode, titled “Got Milk,” was released on Tuesday, November 26, 2025. This was a special early release, moving from the usual Friday schedule likely because of the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. The season will continue with new episodes every Friday through December 26, 2025.
