Grindr UNWRAPPED is a detailed year-in-review report from the social networking and dating app. It shares insights from its over 15 million monthly users across more than 190 countries. The 2025 report is the fifth edition and includes data from more than 32,000 user votes, which is three times more people than last year. The report covers various categories, from music and celebrities to dating trends and travel habits within the LGBTQ+ community.
“The internet moves fast, but the gay internet is driving,” said Tristan Pineiro, Grindr’s SVP of Marketing and Communications. “UNWRAPPED proves gay culture doesn’t just follow trends, we create them. What starts in our community today becomes mainstream culture tomorrow”.
The “Hottest Man of the Year” is one of many categories. The top spot for 2025 went to actor Jonathan Bailey. Musician Bad Bunny came in second, followed by actor David Corenswet in third and Michael B. Jordan in fourth. Jungkook’s fifth-place finish puts him in notable company and highlights his recognition beyond the traditional K-pop fanbase.
Fan Reactions To Jungkook’s Ranking
News of Jungkook’s placement spread online on Friday, December 5. Fans expressed surprise and happiness that the idol appeared on the list, praising his wide-reaching influence. A common joke that spread across social media was that everyone else would have to wait their turn to admire him.
“get in the line fellas,” wrote one fan on the X platform, a sentiment that was repeated by many others.
Other fans pointed out that Jungkook’s appeal seems universal. “Straight women to gay men, that’s called range,” one user noted. Another fan simply stated, “He’s appreciated both by men and women”. The reaction showed a sense of pride, with fans viewing the ranking as another sign of Jungkook’s status as a global star. Some also humorously argued he should have been ranked even higher. “Truly deserves the number one,” a fan commented, adding, “Our Jungkook is so powerful”.
Jungkook’s Activities In 2025
This recognition comes after a busy year for the BTS singer. Jungkook and his bandmate Jimin were discharged from their mandatory military service in June 2025. Since then, Jungkook has connected with fans through live streams and public appearances.
In September 2025, he attended New York Fashion Week as a brand ambassador for Calvin Klein. He was also the face of the brand’s holiday campaign that year. On the music front, he released a pre-recorded digital single called Never Let Go in June 2024 for BTS’s anniversary. Most recently, the second season of his and Jimin’s travel reality show, Are You Sure?!, began streaming on Disney+. The show follows their travels to Switzerland and Vietnam.
