Fans of the hit adult animated musical can start planning their return to Hell. Hazbin Hotel has been officially renewed for a third season, promising more drama, romance, and divine chaos. The new season will focus heavily on Charlie Morningstar’s family and the sinister agenda of a fan-favorite character.
Confirmed Release Timeline
While an exact premiere date has not been set, creator Vivienne Medrano provided a clear release window. She stated the wait for Season 3 will be similar to the gap between the first two seasons.
This pattern suggests fans can expect Hazbin Hotel Season 3 to debut around summer 2027. The gap between Season 1 and Season 2 was approximately one year and eight months. Medrano also confirmed that the wait for the already-greenlit Season 4 will be shorter, as the two seasons were approved for production together.
Voice recording for the third season is complete. Christian Borle, the voice of Vox, revealed at a convention that the cast had finished recording their lines for Season 3, and work on Season 4 is already underway.
Returning Voices and Key Cast
The main cast will return for the next chapter. The series will continue to star Erika Henningsen as the optimistic princess of Hell, Charlie Morningstar, and Stephanie Beatriz as her devoted girlfriend, Vaggie.
They will be joined by the rest of the ensemble, including:
- Amir Talai as Alastor
- Keith David as Husk
- Blake Roman as Angel Dust
- Kimiko Glenn as Niffty
- Alex Brightman as Sir Pentious
In a confirmed update, Jeremy Jordan will be back as Lucifer Morningstar, Charlie’s father.
Story Focus and Character Arcs
Season 3 is set to be the “Morningstar season,” diving deep into Charlie’s complicated family dynamics. This includes exploring the mystery of her mother, Queen Lilith, who called Charlie at the end of Season 2 after a seven-year absence.
The season will also deliver major revelations about the deal between Alastor and Rosie. Medrano has said this deal is the “first stepping stone in a much bigger story.” The new season will answer why Rosie is so powerful and why she ordered Alastor to disappear for seven years.
Medrano has hinted that a major character shift is coming, teasing that Season 3 will see a character who has been a “friendly face” or an “anti-hero” step into a more villainous role.
“Iโm also excited for people to see a character weโve built upโฆ a character who is on the right side for the first two seasons, getting to step into a villain role, and getting to see the nuance and the real motivation behind a very trickstery, devious character who has his own agenda that’s much more sinister in season 3,” Medrano said.
This aligns with other hints that Alastor, now free from his deal with Rosie and possessing his full power, will pursue his own sinister goals.
For Charlie, her personal journey will involve learning to listen to those around her. Her character arc will focus on not letting her own feelings and desire to be seen as good get in the way of making tough choices.

A Season of Emotion and Revelation
Medrano has described the upcoming season as her personal favorite part of the story.
“I am excited for people to see a season that is really emotional, in a lot of ways. Itโs the most romantic season, which I love as a romance writer. I just love the dramatic, the angst, the twists and turns of Season 3,” Medrano shared.
In a separate comment, she summed up Season 3 in one word: “revelations.” The official logo colors for the season will be a purple and green scheme.
All episodes of Hazbin Hotel Season 3 will be available to stream on Prime Video upon its release.
