Netflix is set to launch a new psychological thriller, His & Hers, a six-episode limited series based on Alice Feeney’s bestselling novel. The show stars Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal and will premiere on January 8, 2026. The story follows two connected individuals with different perspectives on a shocking small-town murder.

Story Overview

His & Hers is set in the sweltering heat of Atlanta and the sleepy town of Dahlonega, Georgia. Tessa Thompson plays Anna Andrews, a former news anchor living in reclusive isolation, distanced from her friends and career. Her life is snapped back into focus when she learns about a murder in her hometown. She becomes obsessed with the case, returning to Dahlonega to search for answers.

Jon Bernthal plays Detective Jack Harper, who is leading the police investigation into the killing. He finds Anna’s sudden interest in the case deeply suspicious, and his investigation soon places her in his crosshairs. The core of the story is built on their conflicting narratives.

โ€œThere are two sides to every story: his and hers, which means someone is always lying,โ€ states the official series synopsis.

Tessa Thompson expressed her excitement about the project, saying, โ€œI am beyond elated to be collaborating with a filmmaker I have long admired and an incredible team to make a fresh offering in a genre that I can never get enough of.โ€ She added that from the moment she heard the director’s vision and visited the story’s setting, she was hooked.
