Ever imagine your mom dating a pop star? That’s the crazy idea behind the new movie “The Idea of You”! This rom-com, which is short for romantic comedy, follows a single mom named Solène (played by actress Anne Hathaway) on a wild adventure.

At 40 years old, Solène isn’t exactly expecting sparks to fly. But when she takes her teenage daughter to a music festival called Coachella, things take a turn for the unexpected! There, she meets Hayes Campbell (played by Nicholas Galitzine), the lead singer of a super famous boy band called August Moon.
Hayes is young, talented, and totally swoon-worthy, but there’s one big catch: he’s 16 years younger than Solène! This age difference has everyone talking. Some people think the movie is inspired by real-life pop star Harry Styles, who’s known for dating older women.
While there are some similarities, the filmmakers say Hayes is actually inspired by a whole bunch of different people, including Prince Harry and even Solène herself! The real story, they say, is about Solène and how women are seen as they get older.
But here’s the coolest part for K-Pop fans: even though the movie isn’t about BTS, the choreography for August Moon’s performances was totally inspired by the amazing dance moves of the Bangtan Boys! So while the movie might not be straight-up BTS fanfiction, it still has a little bit of BTS magic in it.
Nicholas Galitzine, the actor who plays Hayes, says they wanted to create a new and original character, not just copy someone else. He also mentioned there are lots of other references in the movie, so keep an eye out for Easter eggs when you watch it!
