BTS’s Kim Taehyung, known as V, recently opened up about his daily routines, quirky thoughts, and emotional experiences in a heartfelt interview with W Korea. The global superstar revealed why he avoids perfume, his struggles with sleep, and touching moments from his bandmate J-Hope’s concert.
V’s Everyday Essentials and Workout Routine
In a “What’s In My Bag” video for W Korea, V shared the items he carries daily. His first pick was a headset, which he uses to listen to music during workouts, flights, and even before sleeping. He mentioned enjoying songs by Kenshi Yonezu, inspired by his close friend Park Hyung Sik, who once performed them live for him.
V also showed a workout strap, explaining how his fitness routine changed after military service.
“I got this so I can work out safely. I used to do a three-day split, but now I do a two-day split. In the military, I exercised almost every day — at least six times a week. After discharge, I’m busier, so I try to work out steadily and healthily whenever I can.”
When asked about his strength, V joked about his intense training sessions with large PT trainers, saying he can lift more than expected for his body weight.
Struggles with Insomnia and Unusual Nighttime Thoughts
V admitted he struggles with sleep after leaving the military.
“In the military, when lights went out at 10 p.m., I slept well. But after discharge, having freedom made me stay up late again. If I had to re-enlist, I could sleep at 10 p.m., but now I think I’m just choosing not to sleep.”
His mind often wanders to strange scenarios when he can’t sleep.
“I try to think of nothing, but end up thinking things like, ‘What if a rhino’s heart got stuck in me? Would I die in one second? Could I last about 10 seconds?’”
The staff burst into laughter at his unexpected thoughts.
Why V Doesn’t Use Perfume and His Love for Donkeys
One surprising revelation was V’s avoidance of perfume.
“Since middle school, I’ve used body lotion every day, and I don’t like mixing scents.”
He also showed his sunglasses and iPad, which had a donkey illustration as the wallpaper.
“I like it because it looks like me. I put it on the table when I eat and watch OTT content — basically, I watch everything.”
Emotional Moment at J-Hope’s Concert
V shared a touching story about attending J-Hope’s solo concert.
“I cried at Hobi hyung’s concert. I teared up alone during the part where he sang with Jungkook. I didn’t tell anyone because I was embarrassed.”
Fans loved his mix of humor and vulnerability, calling the interview “peak Taehyung.”
