IVE’s Jang Won Young Remains Firm in Legal Battle Against YouTuber Sojang

Jang Won Young Remains Firm in Legal Battle Against YouTuber Sojang

Loading

IVE’s Jang Won Young is determined to continue her legal fight against controversial YouTuber Sojang, with her agency, Starship Entertainment, reiterating their stance of “no settlement, no leniency.”

On March 6th, Starship Entertainment released a brief statement, declaring, “As previously stated, we plan to continue the lawsuit without any form of settlement. Therefore, we have no further comment on the matter.” This firm response comes after reports surfaced suggesting the possibility of a settlement between the two parties. However, Jang Won Young and her agency remain resolute in their pursuit of legal action.

The legal battle stems from accusations against Sojang of spreading false information and malicious rumors about the young K-pop star. Sojang has been further accused of hiring individuals to write and post negative comments about Jang Won Young online. This persistent stream of negativity ultimately led Jang Won Young and her agency to take legal action.

In December 2023, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of Jang Won Young, ordering Sojang to pay 100 million won (approximately $74,951 USD) in compensation for the damages caused. However, Sojang chose to appeal the court’s decision, extending the legal proceedings.

Fans of Jang Won Young and netizens alike have been following the case closely, expressing their support for the young artist and hoping for a swift and just resolution. As the case progresses, fans can expect further updates detailing the developments in the ongoing legal battle.
