Fans waiting for the return of the hit HBO series have just gotten a major update. Actor Jacob Elordi, who plays Nate Jacobs, has confirmed he has completed filming his scenes for the highly anticipated third season. The actor shared exciting details about his unique experience on set and what viewers can expect when the show returns.

Elordi’s Filming Experience and Season 3 Tease

Speaking at a recent red carpet event, Jacob Elordi opened up about his work on the new season. He described the filming process as an incredibly positive and transformative experience. The actor praised the creative vision of the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, for the new season’s direction.

“It was incredible, man,” Elordi said. “It was incredibly liberating. I got to play something so sort of far out from what I’ve done before.”

He went on to commend Levinson’s work, stating that the creator “constructed something that’s incredibly clever and cinematic.” Elordi expressed strong confidence in the final product, adding, “I think people are really going to like it.”

A Secretive Production Approach

In a surprising revelation, Elordi explained that the production for this season was highly compartmentalized. The actor disclosed that he only filmed his own storyline and has no knowledge of the other plotlines or what happens to the rest of the characters.

“Everybody shoots at different storylines,” Elordi explained. “I don’t know what anyone else is doing. I had a really singular storyline. You don’t know what the other story lines are. It’s like FBI files.”

This unusual approach means that even the show’s stars will experience the full story as viewers do. Elordi sees a bright side to this secrecy, noting, “So it’s great because I’ll get to consume the show the same way that everybody else does as a fan, which I haven’t been able to do before. I’m really excited.”

Setting the Record Straight on Filming Tech

During his conversation, Elordi also took a moment to correct a piece of information that had been circulating in the media. He specifically denied a previous report that claimed the entire new season was shot using VistaVision technology.

“I did not say that, that is not true,” the actor clarified. He did confirm, however, that the season boasts a distinct visual style, noting that “It’s shot on a lot of different kinds of film and it’s beautiful.”

Confirmed Cast and New Additions

The third season will see the return of the show’s principal cast, including Zendaya as Rue, Hunter Schafer as Jules, and Sydney Sweeney as Cassie. Other returning stars include Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow.

The season will also introduce a significant number of new cast members. Notable newcomers include Rosalรญa, Sharon Stone, and Natasha Lyonne. They will be joined by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, and Marshawn Lynch, among many others.

A Long-Awaited Return and Final Season

Euphoria Season 3 has been in the works for several years, with its last season having aired in 2022. The production faced multiple delays, including the Hollywood labor strikes in 2023 and the tragic passing of cast member Angus Cloud, who played Fezco.

After these challenges, HBO officially confirmed that production began on February 10, 2025. The network has announced that fans can expect the new season to premiere in spring of 2026.

This third season is also widely expected to be the show’s last. HBO’s Head of Drama, Francesca Orsi, has indicated that while nothing is official until it’s over, the season has been discussed as the conclusion of the series. She assured that the plan is to provide a satisfying end to the characters’ narratives.

A New Direction for the Characters

While specific plot details are being kept under wraps, it has been confirmed that the new season will feature a time jump. This narrative device will move the characters beyond their high school years, exploring their lives as young adults.

Zendaya, who also serves as a producer, has expressed her own excitement about this new direction for her character, Rue, and the others. She noted that it will be fascinating to see how the characters’ high school experiences shape the adults they become.

Elordi is currently promoting his other major project, Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein,” where he stars as the Monster alongside Oscar Isaac.
