The creator of Letterkenny and Shoresy, Jared Keeso, is back with a new series. His upcoming comedy, I Kill The Bear, has officially started production and revealed a massive, all-star Canadian cast. The show will film in Sudbury, Ontario, and is set to premiere on Crave in 2026.
The Story Behind the Show
I Kill The Bear is a comedy about a family that has worked as bear wranglers for movie sets for 100 years. The story follows the family as they decide that their current film project will be their last. The series will explore their reasons for ending such a long-running family business. The show is planned for six half-hour episodes.
The series is produced by New Metric Media, the same company behind Letterkenny and Shoresy. Jared Keeso is the creator, writer, and star. He also developed the story with producer Trevor Risk. Dan and Sean Skene are the directors and executive producers.
Meet the Star-Studded Cast
The show features an impressive lineup of Canadian talent, blending well-known actors, famous musicians, and sports legends.

A Creative Homecoming in Sudbury
Production for I Kill The Bear is taking place in Sudbury, Ontario. This location continues a creative partnership for Keeso, as both Letterkenny and Shoresy were also filmed there. The decision to film in Sudbury helps maintain the distinct Canadian feel that is a hallmark of Keeso’s previous work.
The series is part of a larger multi-year deal that Bell Media signed with Jared Keeso in 2023 to develop new content for Crave. This deal included plans for more Letterkenny spinoffs and an “all-new series,” which we now know is I Kill The Bear.
What Fans Can Expect
With such a large and varied cast, the show promises a mix of different comedic styles. The inclusion of actors from Keeso’s previous projects, like Dylan Playfair, Eliana Jones, and Frederick Roy, creates a sense of a “Keesoverse,” connecting his new show to the humor fans already love.
The casting of Chad Kroeger and Georges St-Pierre brings unique star power. For Kroeger, this is a major step into scripted TV, while St-Pierre, who has action movie experience, will be trying his hand at comedy.
The premise of a family leaving a century-old business gives the show a solid foundation for both humor and more heartfelt moments about family and change. As one report described it, the show is “a funny investigation of legacy and transformation set in an offbeat, rarely represented corner of the world.”
