Justin Bieber is reportedly delaying his $31 million payment to Scooter Braun, his former manager. The singer is waiting for his wife Hailey Bieber‘s $1 billion deal with e.l.f. Cosmetics to finalize. Sources say Justin plans to use his share from the deal to settle the debt.

Justin Bieber’s Debt Breakdown

Justin owes $31.5 million to Scooter Braun‘s former company, HYBE. The debt includes:

  • $26 million from a loan after canceling his Justice World Tour in 2022.
  • $5.5 million in unpaid commissions (half of the original $11 million owed).

An additional $8 million in commissions was waived by Braun. The settlement allows Justin to keep ownership of his music masters, a major win for the singer.

Why Justin Needs Hailey’s Rhode Deal Money

Justin’s $200 million music catalog sale in 2022 wasn’t enough to cover the debt after taxes, legal fees, and expenses. His spending habits, including luxury purchases and private jets, reportedly drained his finances.

Hailey’s Rhode brand was sold to e.l.f. Cosmetics for $1 billion in May 2025. Justin, an investor, is expected to receive $50 million from the deal—enough to pay Braun.

“The historic sale of Rhode is a huge accomplishment for Hailey and is completely separate from her husband and his business affairs.”Hailey Bieber’s rep

The Justice Tour Cancellation Fallout

Justin canceled his Justice World Tour in 2022 due to Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused facial paralysis. The tour’s backer, AEG, demanded a $40 million refund. HYBE stepped in to cover $26 million, which Justin now must repay.

Despite earning $20 million for canceling the tour, Justin faced financial strain. Reports claim his spending was “out of control,” with sources saying:

“He spends eye-watering amounts per month. At one point, he couldn’t even get a credit card.”

Scooter Braun’s Response

Braun hasn’t commented on the debt delay but hinted at a possible reunion with Justin:

“It’s not the same that it was. We had such extreme success, but I think he wanted to prove he could do it on his own—and I respect that.”

Hailey’s Rhode Success

Hailey’s Rhode brand sale is one of the biggest beauty deals of 2025. She remains COO and Head of Innovation at Rhode while advising e.l.f. Beauty.

Justin publicly supported her, posting on Instagram:

“When I launched @rhode in 2022, I always had big dreams for the company, and the most important thing to me is to keep bringing Rhode to more spaces, places, and faces globally.”Hailey Bieber
