Ju Haknyeon, former member of THE BOYZ, has been removed from the group after reports surfaced about his private meeting with ex-Japanese adult film actress Asuka Kirara. The scandal has now taken a new turn as Kirara faces accusations of cheating on her boyfriend, a YouTuber with disabilities.
The controversy began when Japanese magazine Shūkan Bunshun reported that Haknyeon and Kirara were seen drinking together at a bar in Tokyo’s Roppongi district on May 29, 2025. Witnesses claimed they were physically close, hugging, and even resting on each other’s shoulders.
Kirara, who retired from the adult film industry in 2020, had publicly dated Ryu Hirokawa, a YouTuber known as Hilock, since June 2024. Ryu, who has an intellectual disability, gained fame for his openness about his condition and has over 60,000 subscribers. The couple made headlines when they walked a fashion show together in matching cosplay outfits.
Since no breakup announcement was made, netizens are questioning if Kirara was unfaithful to Ryu during her encounter with Haknyeon. Others speculate if their relationship was just a publicity stunt.
THE BOYZ’s agency, ONE HUNDRED, confirmed Haknyeon’s departure, stating they could no longer trust him as an artist. Fans are furious, calling his actions selfish and disrespectful.
Netizens have flooded online forums with mixed reactions. Some criticize Kirara for potentially betraying Ryu, while others question the authenticity of her relationship.
“Fck, why do I have to end up finding out stuff like this when I just started fangirling over K-pop idols…”*
“Whether it’s just a concept or not, I seriously fcking hate it.”*
“They say that kind of thing does well in the AV world, right? Does that concept(?) actually help with her business too…? I really don’t understand…”
“They don’t seem mentally stable, honestly.”
“It’s probably just a business thing or a concept.”
“This is fcking endless.”*
The scandal has left fans disillusioned, with many expressing disappointment in Haknyeon’s lack of remorse. Before his departure was announced, he posted cryptic messages on a fan platform, further angering supporters.
“I’ve really been wanting to say this.”
“Thank you so, so much for just liking me for who I am~”
Fans called the messages insensitive, with one saying, “If he was truly sorry to the fans, he wouldn’t say something like that. Selfish to the very end.”
Kirara has not publicly addressed the cheating allegations. Meanwhile, THE BOYZ will continue as an 10-member group.
