The mother-daughter duo sang Clarkson’s hit song “Heartbeat Song” together at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on July 18. River Rose showed no signs of nervousness as she sang alongside her famous mom. Videos shared online show her adjusting her earpiece and belting out the lyrics confidently. Clarkson, 43, looked proud as she hugged her daughter and swayed with her during the performance.
The two wore matching outfits—black jeans and graphic T-shirts—making the moment even more special. Clarkson told the audience before the duet:
“So my daughter River Rose said to me, ‘I wanna sing tonight!’”

The “Studio Sessions” residency was supposed to begin on July 4, but Clarkson postponed the opening due to vocal strain. She shared on Instagram:
“The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.”
The shows finally started on July 11, and Clarkson apologized to fans who had tickets for the canceled dates. During one performance, she said:
“Man, I’m so sorry if some of y’all had [tickets to] last weekend’s shows. I’m so sorry. We can’t help our bodies sometimes, and that happens, but thank you for showing up. We’re so excited.”
Despite the delay, fans have been loving the residency. Clarkson described it as her favorite performance setup because it feels like a studio session with live musicians.

“No joke, people probably think I’m some kind of stage mom, I didn’t tell him to do it,” she said. “He walked in and was like, ‘Where do I sing my song?’ I was like, ‘I’m sorry, what?’”
Clarkson shares both children with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, whom she divorced in 2022.
