Reports suggest he may play a wealthy CEO, potentially alongside Lee Jung Jae from Squid Game and Lim Ji Yeon of The Glory and Lies Hidden in My Garden, who are also said to be considering lead roles in the drama.
Kim Ji Hoon in Talks to Play CEO Role
According to a report by K-media outlet SPOTV News on February 19, Kim Ji Hoon has received an offer for the drama Petty Love (literal translation). His agency, BIGPICTURE ENT, acknowledged the offer, stating:
“Petty Love is one of the works Kim Ji Hoon has been offered to appear in.”
If he accepts, Kim Ji Hoon might portray Joo Jae Hyung, a kind-hearted and genuine character who is a former sports star turned CEO of a newspaper and a second-generation chaebol (heir to a conglomerate). This role would mark a shift for the actor, who is recognized for his intense performances in dramas like Death’s Game, Flower of Evil, the movie Ballerina, and Money Heist: Korea.
Potential Cast and Drama Details
The tvN drama Petty Love has also reportedly offered lead roles to Lee Jung Jae and Lim Ji Yeon. Lee Jung Jae is in talks to play a veteran actor aiming for melodramatic lead roles. Lim Ji Yeon is being considered for the role of an award-winning political journalist who is moved to the entertainment desk after a problem arises from her reporting.
The drama will reportedly explore the romance that develops between these two individuals from very different professional backgrounds, each with strong personalities. Petty Love is penned by writer Jung Yeo Rang, known for her work on Doctor Cha, and will be directed by Kim Ga Ram, who also directed the series Good Partner. The drama is expected to air on tvN sometime this year.
