Actor Opens Up in Recent Interview

Actor Kim Woo Bin recently discussed how his battle with nasopharyngeal cancer has transformed his outlook on life. In an interview with News1, he promoted his new Netflix movie, Officer Black Belt, where he plays Lee Jung Do, a martial arts expert.

Role of Lee Jung Do

Kim portrays Lee Jung Do, a character with 9th-degree black belts in Taekwondo, Kendo, and Judo. Jung Do uses his martial arts skills to help others, working with probation officer Kim Seon Min, played by Kim Sung Kyun. Kim Woo Bin expressed gratitude towards real-life martial arts officers, stating, “I discovered everyday heroes who make our lives safer.”

Finding Joy in Each Day

The actor emphasized the importance of living fully in the present. He said, “I’m trying to live each day well.” Kim explained that he is now more focused on the people around him, saying, “I look more often at the faces of the people I talk to.” He believes this practice has enhanced his happiness.

Reflecting on the Past

Kim shared that he used to live with a focus on the future, often pushing himself too hard. He reflected, “I missed out on enjoying the moments.” His perspective shifted after his health struggles, leading him to appreciate each day more.

When asked about his long-time girlfriend, actress Shin Min Ah, Kim confirmed she has seen the film. “She really enjoyed it and liked learning about the role of martial arts officers,” he noted, appreciating her support.
