Ko Woo Rim, a member of the vocal group Forestella, has finished his required military service. He shared a public message of affection for his wife, former figure skating champion Kim Yuna, which she acknowledged with a ‘like’ on social media.
Ko Woo Rim officially completed his mandatory military service on May 19, 2025. He celebrated this milestone by sharing a message on his social media, expressing his feelings about his time in the military and his gratitude.
Ko Woo Rim’s Discharge Message
On May 21, Ko Woo Rim posted a message on his social media account announcing his discharge. He wrote, “Discharged. This is civilian Ko Woo Rim reporting back. I have completed my service safely and in good health, thanks to the support and encouragement of everyone who cared for me. May 2025, which once seemed so far away, has finally arrived.”
He also reflected on his time serving in the military. Ko Woo Rim stated, “There were times when the lack of freedom was frustrating and difficult, but I also gained valuable lessons and personal growth that could only come through this process. I am looking forward to meeting a more mature version of myself in the days ahead.”
Ko Woo Rim also gave thanks to his fellow members of Forestella. He said, “I am deeply thankful to my teammates who kept the group strong during the eighteen months or even longer for which I was away. Now, all of our members have completed their military service.”
A Public Display of Affection
Along with his message, Ko Woo Rim shared a series of photos from his time in the army. These pictures included group shots with other soldiers and various moments from his military journey.
One particular detail in the photos caught the attention of many. On the right side of his military uniform, the phrase “Woo Rim♥Yuna” was stitched in pink. This detail served as a public and loving gesture towards his wife.
Fans also noticed that Kim Yuna herself showed support by liking the social media post. This further touched the hearts of many who saw the interaction.
The Couple’s Journey
Ko Woo Rim and Kim Yuna first met in 2018. Their meeting happened during the All That Skate ice show, where Ko Woo Rim performed as part of the celebration stage.
The couple dated for three years before getting married in October 2022. Their wedding was a notable event, bringing together two popular figures from different fields.
Ko Woo Rim started his military service on November 20, 2023. He served as a member of the Army’s military band. His official discharge date was May 19, 2025.
Ko Woo Rim will now return to his activities as a member of Forestella. The group has seen all its members complete their military duties, setting the stage for future projects and performances.
