The Taylor Sheridan drama Landman is proving to be a major force in the streaming world, even months after its second season ended. The series, which follows the rough world of West Texas oil fields, is currently seeing a big rise in popularity on platforms like Prime Video and iTunes, climbing up the top charts. This new wave of viewers comes as fans eagerly wait for news about the third season, which has hit a small roadblock in its production schedule.
Streaming Numbers Show Strong Staying Power
Nearly three months have passed since the Landman Season 2 finale aired in January, but the show continues to pull in large audiences. Streaming data shows the series appearing on top-ten lists across multiple services, including Prime Video, iTunes, and SkyShowtime. On March 3, 2026, the show held the tenth spot on the US Top 10 TV shows list, and it had climbed to fifth place just a week earlier.
This performance is unusual for most television series, which usually see viewer numbers drop after a few weeks. The continued interest shows that new audiences are still finding the show, while existing fans are rewatching episodes. The series has also remained strong on Paramount+, its original home, where it recently reached the second position on the platform’s charts in the US and continues to rank in the top ten across more than 20 countries.
Critics and Fans See Things Differently
The success comes at a time when opinions about the show are sharply divided. Critics have praised the second season, giving it a 83 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers, however, have been much harder on the show, with the audience score dropping to 47 percent for Season 2.
Some of the criticism focuses on the characters of Angela Norris, played by Ali Larter, and Ainsley Norris, played by Michelle Randolph. A review noted that while Angela brings energy to the show, she changes very little throughout the season, and her daughter Ainsley does not show meaningful growth. Others have said the show moved away from its oil industry focus to spend too much time on personal relationships, with one episode focusing on romance and family issues becoming the lowest-rated of the series.
Production on Season 3 Faces Delays
Michelle Randolph, who plays Ainsley, shared a recent update about the third season that was not what fans wanted to hear. In an interview, she confirmed that scripts for Season 3 have not been released to the cast yet. “I haven’t seen any scripts. I don’t have exact dates — yet,” Randolph said.
She added that she hopes filming will begin in the summer, which would likely push the release to late 2026 or early 2027. Randolph also talked about where her character might go next, suggesting that Ainsley could be heading to college. “I’m looking forward to seeing and discovering who she is when she goes to college and she’s around her peers and out of her comfort zone,” she explained.
Cast Confirms Return Despite Rumors
Despite some online rumors, Billy Bob Thornton will be back as Tommy Norris for the third season. Thornton spoke directly about false reports that claimed he was leaving the show. “There’s an AI report that Demi [Moore] and I are a couple now, and there’s one that I’m leaving the show,” Thornton told USA Today. “They have nothing to do with reality.”
Demi Moore is also expected to return as Cami Miller, though official cast announcements from Paramount+ have not been made public yet. The show’s cast includes Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, and Paulina Chavez, with Andy Garcia and Sam Elliott joining in the second season.

What Viewers Can Expect Next
Season 2 ended with Tommy Norris being fired from his position at M-Tex Oil, leaving his future uncertain. The show’s creators have hinted at a reset of the power dynamics going into the third season, which could bring major changes to the story and the characters.
The series, created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, remains one of the top shows on Paramount+. The Season 2 finale drew a series-high 1.77 billion viewing minutes in the week before its January 18 release. The show follows landmen who work for oil companies securing leases from landowners in West Texas, a job filled with legal fights, business deals, and personal risk.
For viewers in the US, all episodes of Landman can be watched on Paramount+. International audiences can find the show on Prime Video in some regions, as well as other local streaming services.
