The third season of Apple TV’s popular comedy Loot is about to wrap up. The final episode will see Maya Rudolph’s character, Molly Wells, and her team in a frantic race to save her charitable foundation. The finale, titled “Hail Mary Time,” will be released on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
The season has built up to this point with Molly facing threats from her ex-husband’s new partner, Luciana. Viewers were left with a major cliffhanger in the last episode, setting the stage for a high-stakes wedding crash to settle the Foundation’s fate.

Where the Story Left Off: A Recap of Episode 9
The penultimate episode, “Slide,” placed Molly at a difficult crossroads. After her breakup with Arthur, she tried to move on by dating a younger man named Maro, played by Zane Phillips. However, during an evening with his friends, she struggled to connect with them and found herself missing Arthur. In a telling moment, she retreated to her room and put on his clothes.
Meanwhile, Arthur was not handling the split well. His grief led him to ask his friends Nicholas and Howard for drugs, who tricked him with crushed prebiotic pills instead. The episode ended with a major confrontation. Luciana visited Molly’s office to deliver two pieces of shocking news. First, she announced her marriage to Molly’s ex-husband, John Novak. Second, she revealed that Molly’s Wells Foundation was under a formal investigation for illegal activities, which she implied was retaliation for Molly’s public “boycott billionaire” campaign.
What “Hail Mary Time” Promises for the Finale
The official description for the final episode states: “Season finale. Molly and the team crash an Italian wedding in a desperate attempt to save The Wells Foundation from Luciana”. This points to a chaotic and comedic showdown at the wedding of John and Luciana.
Several key questions from the season will likely find resolution. The main plot involves whether Molly can stop the investigation and save her foundation from Luciana’s threats. The personal storyline also needs a conclusion. Viewers are wondering if Molly will choose to stay with her new boyfriend, Maro, or reconcile with Arthur. Her actions in the previous episode, wearing Arthur’s clothes, suggest her feelings for him are still strong.
