The Apple TV+ comedy series Loot finished its third season with a finale full of chaos, surprise guest stars, and a romantic cliffhanger that left viewers with one major question. As fans watched the credits roll on December 10, 2025, the immediate follow-up question was about the show’s future: will there be a Loot Season 4?.

As of now, Apple TV has not made an official announcement to renew the show for a fourth season. The platform has not canceled it either, leaving the show’s future currently undecided. This kind of waiting period is common for streaming services. For example, Apple TV recently renewed another of its comedies, Platonic, two months after its second season ended.
The Season 3 Finale Sets Up Major Storylines
The Season 3 finale, titled “Hail Mary Time,” ended with a dramatic twist designed to make fans ask for more. Molly Wells, played by Maya Rudolph, and her team from the Wells Foundation travel to Italy to confront her ex-husband John’s new girlfriend, Luciana, at her wedding. The plan to crash the wedding takes a turn when Molly finds Luciana heartbroken after John leaves her just before the ceremony.
The episode concludes with a shocking double proposal. Both of Molly’s love interestsโher ex-boyfriend Arthur (Nat Faxon) and her new, younger flame Maro (Zane Phillips)โget down on one knee and propose to her at the same time. Molly is left completely stunned, with no answer given. Series co-creator Matt Hubbard explained the choice, saying, “I always love ending with some sort of comedy cliffhanger. We leave with these two paths that are in front of Molly”.
Other characters face big decisions, too. Sofia, played by Michaela Jaรฉ Rodriguez, is offered a chance to run for Congress, which could mean leaving her job at the Wells Foundation. The finale also turned Molly’s enemy, Luciana, into a potential ally, setting up new dynamics for a future season.

What The Cast And Creator Say About A Potential Season 4
While waiting for Apple’s decision, the people behind Loot have expressed strong interest in continuing the story. Showrunner Matt Hubbard has spoken about the show’s potential for more seasons.
“We love doing this show. I come from the old sitcom world where we used to do seven seasons and 22 episodes, and that that world is gone. But I always tried to build Loot when Alan and I created it for distanceโฆ I do think thereโs more stories to tell,” Hubbard told The Wrap. “Apple has always been so supportive of us creativelyโฆ So weโre here when they want to do another season”.
Cast member Ron Funches, who plays Howard, has also shared his hopes for his character’s future. In an interview, he talked about wanting to see Howard find love again after his breakup with Destiny in Season 3.
“Iโm hopeful that in the next seasons โ however many we get to go โ that we do get to see Howard in a loving, stable relationship and see him build and grow from that,” Funches said.

When Could Loot Season 4 Possibly Release?
Since the show is not officially renewed, there is no premiere date for a fourth season. However, looking at the show’s production history provides clues about a potential timeline.

Previous seasons of Loot have faced significant delays. The gap between Season 1 (2022) and Season 2 (2024) was extended due to the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strikes. Season 3, which premiered in October 2025, was also delayed because of star Maya Rudolph’s commitments to Saturday Night Live during the 2024 election cycle.
If the show is renewed soon and avoids major production hurdles, some industry reports suggest new episodes could potentially be ready by 2026. Other estimates, considering Apple TV’s typical production schedules, point to a possible 2027 release. Fans are advised to watch for official news from Apple TV for confirmation.
