The game is set in a snowy version of Republican-era China. Inside this world, Hu Xiu meets a character named Qin Xiao Yi, played by Chen Xingxu. The two feel a strong connection during the game. The story takes a turn when Hu Xiu later meets the man behind the game character in real life. His real name is Xiao Zhiyu. The drama then moves between the suspenseful, historical game world and modern reality, as the two people try to understand their feelings for each other across both spaces.
The director, Cattree, uses a murder mystery game as the narrative link to skillfully blend the suspenseful tension of the turbulent Republic of China era with the sweet throbs of the modern city.
