She repeatedly told her castmates, the experts, and Divarni himself that she lacked any physical attraction to him. This confession was especially awkward as Julia-Ruth had previously selected Steven in a game of ‘Snog, Marry, Avoid’. She later explained that off-camera, she and Steven had gotten along well and shared a lot of laughs. However, Steven responded to the speculation by posting on Instagram, “Who would want to flirt with a walking red flag?!” He also expressed his surprise at being brought into the drama.

“I came into this experiment hoping for the best – a lifetime partner. I think I lost myself in this process, over and over. I hurt a lot of good people who loved me and to this day am still making amends with those I’ve wronged and will continue to do so,” she wrote.
She explained that the pressure of the show, combined with alcohol, emotional exhaustion, and sleep deprivation, led to her not being “the best version of myself.” Regarding the secrecy around their intimacy, she later clarified that she is not shy about discussing such topics but felt it should have been a mutual decision to share that part of their relationship with the group.
“I think we just had a lot of battles and I just feel like regardless of whether the intimacy was good or wasn’t good or whatever was happening in our relationship, that should be a decision that should be made between my husband and I,” Julia-Ruth told Cosmopolitan UK.
A Final Bombshell and Rule Breaking
The on-screen drama was followed by off-screen revelations that broke the show’s rules. Shortly after the explosive argument aired, Julia-Ruth took to her Instagram Stories, launching into a fiery rant against her co-stars. In a now-deleted post, she referred to herself as “happily divorced,” a major spoiler that confirms the couple’s ultimate fate before it was shown on television.
This was not the only rule broken regarding their relationship status. Earlier, a fan had spotted Divarni on the dating app Hinge, with a verified profile that included a prompt stating, “This year I really want to…travel more.” This discovery strongly suggested the couple had split. A spokesperson for Divarni addressed the profile, stating, “Divarni had signed up to the dating site before he signed up to the show. He was not active on the site for the duration of filming.”
Despite choosing to stay in the experiment during the last commitment ceremony, the relationship between Julia-Ruth and Divarni appears to have ended for good, with both parties moving on after a tumultuous marriage.
