Megan Fox made a dramatic and stylish return to the public eye this weekend, seven months after welcoming her baby daughter. The actress turned heads at a special screening of her 2009 film Jennifer’s Body in a striking nude and blood-red ensemble that perfectly captured the movie’s dark spirit.
The Dramatic Outfit
At the October 25 event held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, Fox wore a unforgettable look. Her outfit featured a skin-toned corset decorated with red crystals that dripped down the bodice like fresh blood. She paired the corset with a semi-sheer, flesh-colored skirt and nude high heels. A simple red choker completed the Halloween-ready look, which she showcased on her Instagram with the caption, โMommy had a thing last night.โ The event was a screening and Q&A session for the cult classic horror-comedy, which also featured the film’s director, Karyn Kusama.
A Cathartic Role and a Difficult Time
The screening was more than just a fashion moment; it was a chance for Fox to reflect on the personal significance of the film. During the conversation, she was asked what advice she would give her younger self from that time. Fox revealed she was in a difficult place in her life when the movie was made.
โOh, I don’t know that I would give myself advice,โ Fox admitted. โI think where I was at that point in my life, so lost, so full of that rage that I had towards how I had been treated in the industry, and how I was dealing with fame and the constant โฆ at that time, before we started filming.โ
She specifically recalled the harsh treatment she faced from paparazzi, sharing a story from a premiere around that time. โI remember the paparazzi were so ruthless back then โ the way they would talk to women,โ Fox said. โAnd I walked out just to try to get to my car, and they’re all shooting. And one guy’s like, โMegan, why are you such a b***h?โ And another guy is like, โMegan, do you think you’re overrated? The internet says so,โ and I’m just trying to do my job.โ
Connecting with Her Character
Fox explained that playing the demonically possessed cheerleader Jennifer Check provided a much-needed outlet for her own turbulent emotions. She saw deep parallels between her own experiences and her character’s story.
โI was being persecuted at that time in my career, and I was struggling a lot with fame and kind of traumatized by fame,โ Fox shared. โAnd so I resonated with those deeper layers of โฆ you know, before she becomes a monster, she’s just a teenage girl who gets sacrificed for somebody else’s gain.โ
She described the role as “very healing,” allowing her to express a “darker feminine energy” in a safe and creative way. Fox believes that if she had been in a clearer state of mind back then, the raw and unhinged performance that fans love would not have been possible.
Personal Milestones and Sequel Buzz
The screening marks one of Fox’s first major public appearances since she welcomed her daughter, Saga Blade, with rapper Machine Gun Kelly in March 2025. The actress is also a mother to three sons from her previous marriage to Brian Austin Green. Reports suggest that Fox and Kelly, who had briefly separated, have recently reconciled and are focusing on co-parenting their new baby.
The event also brought exciting news for fans of the movie. Director Karyn Kusama confirmed that the original writer, Diablo Cody, is actively working on a script for a Jennifer’s Body sequel. While details are still under wraps, Kusama hinted that the new story will be “fun and crazy like the first film.”
