Michael B. Jordan has confirmed that Creed 4 is officially in development, promising to continue the story of Adonis Creed. In a recent interview, the actor and director outlined the future of the franchise, which will expand beyond the boxing ring with new characters and a major television spin-off. The new project, a series for Amazon, will place Adonis’s young daughter, Amara, at the center of the growing “Creed-verse.”

The Future of the Creed Franchise

In a conversation about his upcoming projects, Michael B. Jordan gave a firm confirmation about the next chapter in the Creed series. He expressed his deep connection to the franchise but signaled a shift in how the story will be told moving forward.

He stated:

โ€œEventually, definitely. It’s a franchise that’s been really kind to me in a big way. I love MGM and Irwin Winkler and everything they’ve got going on. I think there’s a bit more story to be mined through that.โ€

While he confirmed the film is happening, Jordan was clear that his future in the franchise will evolve. He does not see himself boxing on screen for another 15 years. Instead, he plans to use clever storytelling to explore the world through other established characters and new introductions. He teased that he still has a few more “good swings” left in him for the franchise, but his role will become more “adjacent” over time.

Expanding the “Creed-verse” with Amara

The biggest development for the franchise is the confirmation of a live-action TV series in the works at Amazon. The show will be a spin-off focusing on the story of Amara Creed, Adonis’s daughter, who was first introduced in Creed III. The character, who is deaf and showed a strong interest in boxing in the third film, will be portrayed by Mila Davis-Kent, who is also deaf.

Jordan explained the vision for the expanding universe:

โ€œWe’re spinning off doing Adonis’s daughter, Amara’s story, the television show that’s picked up at Amazon. So you’ll be seeing different parts of the Creed-verse, I like to call it. These little IPs are going to keep the universe alive without it being completely reliant on just me to push it through the finish line every time as a boxer.โ€

This series represents a strategic expansion for the franchise. By developing new stories like Amara’s, the Creed universe can continue to grow without depending solely on Adonis Creed’s journey in the boxing ring. The show has Marco Ramรญrez attached as its showrunner.

Behind the Scenes of Creed 4

According to industry databases, Creed IV is currently in the pre-production stage. Michael B. Jordan is set to return not only as the star but also as the director, having made his directorial debut with Creed III in 2023. The film is noted as the tenth overall installment in the sprawling Rocky universe.

The core cast from the previous films is expected to return. This includes Tessa Thompson as Bianca Taylor, Adonis’s wife and Amara’s mother. The project is a production of Amazon MGM Studios and Chartoff-Winkler Productions. While the specific plot details are being kept secret, Jordan has hinted that the story will explore the characters already established in the first three films while also bringing in new faces he has in mind.

A New Model for a Beloved Series

The announcement of both Creed 4 and the Amara-centric series marks a new direction for the beloved film series. The franchise, which began as a spin-off from the Rocky series itself, is now building out its own ecosystem. This model allows the world to continue with fresh perspectives while keeping familiar characters like Adonis involved in different ways.

The three existing Creed films have been a major commercial success, grossing more than $660 million at the worldwide box office. This financial success and enduring fan interest have given the creators the confidence to invest in this wider “Creed-verse,” ensuring that the legacy of Apollo and Adonis Creed will live on through the next generation.
