The game of lies and hidden money is coming back to Netflix very soon. Million Dollar Secret got renewed for a second season, and the streaming service just dropped the official trailer along with the full release plan. The reality competition show, where one player hides a $1,000,000 prize while others try to catch them, will return with more players and harder challenges.

The second season arrives on April 15, 2026, with a three-week rollout. Host Peter Serafinowicz returns to run the game at the lakeside estate called The Stag. Netflix ordered 8 new episodes, each running about 45 minutes.

Season 2 Release Schedule and Streaming Details

The new season follows the same pattern as the first. Netflix will release the episodes in three batches. April 15 brings the first three episodes (1-3). April 22 adds three more episodes (4-6). The final two episodes (7-8) drop on April 29.

For viewers in different time zones, Netflix releases new episodes at 12:00 AM Pacific Time (3:00 AM Eastern Time) on each premiere date. Global audiences can watch the same schedule. United Kingdom viewers get episodes at 8:00 AM GMT. India viewers can watch at 12:30 PM IST. Australia viewers (AEDT) get episodes at 7:00 PM. Canada follows the same US release times.

Meet the 14 New Players Competing for the Hidden Cash

Season 2 brings 14 strangers to the estate, up from 12 players in season one. The cast comes from different parts of the United States. Netflix shared the full player list with the trailer release.

Altie Holcomb, 55, lives in Menifee, California. Daisy Skarning, 50, comes from Edina, Minnesota. Hunter Call, 25, is from San Diego, California. Kaleb Moon, 44, lives in Lead Hill, Arkansas. Kasey Coffey, 33, lives in Brooklyn, New York. Kat Ellis, 26, is from Boston, Massachusetts. Kevin Moranz, 26, lives in Topeka, Kansas. Lauren Gierth, 43, comes from Richland, Washington. Lauren Tennery, 25, lives in South Lake Tahoe, California. Melissa Austin-Weeks, 61, is from Fort Worth, Texas. Natalie Noisom, 29, lives in Miami, Florida. Nick Pellechia, 27, comes from Mendham, New Jersey. Tarek Ahmed, 24, lives in Los Angeles, California. Umeko Peterson, 27, comes from Kapolei, Hawaii.

The group includes players from age 24 to 61. Their backgrounds range from an intelligence analyst to a cat groomer. Each player brings a different game plan to survive the eliminations.

What Makes Season 2 Different from the First

The game rules stay the same at the core. One player gets the $1,000,000 box on day one. The other 13 get empty boxes. The millionaire must hide their identity while the group tries to find them. If the group catches the millionaire, that person loses the money, and someone else becomes the new millionaire.

The second season raises the difficulty. Netflix describes the new episodes with “trickier agendas” and “grueling challenges.” The players face more deception and harder tasks to complete in secret. The estate called The Stag returns as the filming location.

Glenn Hugill, an executive producer, talked about the new season.

“Season 2 of ‘Million Dollar Secret’ is more twisted than ever. The secret tasks are pulled off with breathtaking audacity and the millionaire has never been more dangerous. The whole season is completely addictive.”

Hugill also praised host Peter Serafinowicz.

“And then there’s Peter Serafinowicz, who somehow manages to make players feel completely safe and absolutely doomed with the same raised eyebrow. I genuinely don’t think there’s a better host alive.”

Trailer Shows Higher Stakes and New Twists

Netflix released the official trailer for Million Dollar Secret Season 2 on March 31, 2026. The trailer shows players arriving at The Stag, opening their boxes, and realizing only one contains the money. Quick cuts reveal emotional breakdowns, heated arguments, and players sneaking around to complete secret tasks.

The trailer also highlights the challenges. Players must complete hidden missions without getting caught. One scene shows a player trying to hide something while others watch closely. The tagline says, “This season, trust no one even more.”

Production Team and Show Format

Charles Wachter returns as showrunner for the second season. The production company Wheelhouse Studios handles the show. Executive producers include Brent Montgomery, Glenn Hugill, Will Nothacker, and Russ Friedman.

Season 1 filmed in British Columbia, Canada. The second season likely filmed at the same location, though Netflix has not confirmed specific filming details for season two.

The winner of season one was a Los Angeles cook who worked at In-N-Out Burger. That player managed to keep the million-dollar secret until the end. Season two will crown a new winner after eight episodes of lies, strategy, and eliminations.

Where to Watch and Catch Up

All episodes of Million Dollar Secret Season 1 are streaming now on Netflix. New viewers can watch the first season to understand the game before season two drops. Season 1 holds a 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Million Dollar Secret Season 2 streams exclusively on Netflix. A Netflix subscription is required. Plans start at $6.99 per month for Standard with ads in the US. The show is available in all regions where Netflix operates.
