Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 Episode 6 brings a shocking death and a time-bending twist that changes everything. The episode titled “Requiem” dropped on April 2, 2026, and fans are still processing what happened. Hiroshi Randa dies, leaving his children to grieve. But the real surprise comes at the end when Young Lee Shaw calls out to Old Lee Shaw from inside a rift. Here is everything that happened in this game-changing episode.
Hiroshi’s Funeral Brings Heavy Emotions for the Randa Family
The episode opens on Skull Island, two weeks before Cate and Keiko get rescued from Axis Mundi. Kentaro is drawing Kong when the Titan notices him and roars. Kentaro runs away scared but later sneaks back to the Apex camp. He shares a beer with his father Hiroshi, who admires Kentaro’s sketch of Kong.
During their talk, Hiroshi shares something important. After G-Day, he traveled to Alaska and fell into an Axis Mundi rift. He did not wake up until a year later in Earth time, landing in Africa. This explains why he was missing for so long.
Back in the present day, Cate, Kentaro, Keiko, and Shaw attend Hiroshi’s funeral. The mood is heavy and sad. Cate tries to talk to Kentaro about what happened and her strange connection to Titan X. But Kentaro lashes out at her and walks away. He is not ready to deal with his feelings.
There is some good news. Shaw and Keiko reunite with Dr. Suzuki, the person who made the Titan phone. He is still alive. The group decides to go to Suzuki’s home to rest before Titan X returns.
Kentaro Spiral’s Downward While May Makes a Choice
That night, May visits Kentaro at his apartment. She skipped the funeral because she was afraid people would not want her there. Kentaro seems confused but happy she came without talking to Cate first. The two go to a whiskey bar called Sota’s for drinks.
The bar has changed owners and feels different. Kentaro still wants to drink there anyway. They order blue raspberry whiskey sours, which taste terrible. May tells a story about how Kentaro took care of her when she had the flu. He brought her ramen and they watched the Back To The Future trilogy together. She tells him he can still be that kind and sweet person.
Kentaro leans in for a kiss. May says no politely. Kentaro says he understands because he is “the wrong Randa” and that May is actually in love with Cate. May does not agree or deny it. She just leaves to give him space.
Kentaro meets a new woman played by Amber Midthunder. They play a drinking game watching G-Day news footage. She lets it slip that she knows Kentaro has seen a Titan before. She reveals herself as Isabel Simmons, daughter of Apex Cybernetics CEO Walter Simmons. Kentaro walks away, feeling that Monarch, Apex, and Cate are all equally bad.
Later, Kentaro has a nightmare. Godzilla destroys Tokyo and kills everyone Kentaro loves. Cate says “It’s okay, I told you he won’t hurt us” right before Godzilla kills him. He wakes up scared.
Cate’s Connection to Titan X Gets Clearer
At Dr. Suzuki’s house, Cate, Keiko, Shaw, and Suzuki eat dinner together. Suzuki explains that his Project Hourglass failed because he did not know about the time changes in Axis Mundi. He did not add that into his math.
Shaw takes Suzuki aside and asks him a big question. If they fix the math, could the Hourglass device call Godzilla and point him at a target? Shaw wants to use Godzilla to destroy Titan X for good.
Meanwhile, Cate and Keiko share a moment by the water. Keiko notices strange ripples when Cate’s feet touch the water. These ripples look exactly like the ones Titan X makes when it is close. Cate finally explains her strange link with Titan X to her mother.
Cate and Keiko hear about Shaw and Suzuki’s plan. They say no right away. They think it is wrong for many reasons. But Shaw moves forward anyway. He says the human relationship with Titans is “us vs. them” and only one question matters: “who wins.”
The Time-Bending Twist Changes Everything
The episode goes back to 1958. Young Shaw wakes up late with a hangover. He rushes to meet General Puckett. His father stops him and insists they eat breakfast together. At breakfast, Colonel Leland Shaw II tells his son he will not serve under Puckett. Instead, he is going to Vietnam as a military advisor. The Colonel arranged this himself.
Shaw II yells at his son for wasting time at Monarch. He says there is nothing to understand about Titans. They just want to destroy humans. Only one thing matters: “who wins.”
Young Shaw arrives at his new quarters that night. He punches a hole in the wall from anger. He decides to return to Monarch and surprises Keiko at her office the next morning.
Back in the present, Kentaro visits Hiroshi’s grave. He calls Isabel and simply asks her to “prove him wrong.” Meanwhile, Cate and Keiko run tests to study the Titan X signals Cate has been receiving. They create a listenable transmission that has a clear tone of fear and panic.
Shaw and Dr. Suzuki go to Mt. Sorose to study the Axis Mundi rift there. This is the same rift Shaw woke up outside of in 1982. They open the rift and get clear readings. But Shaw almost gets pulled in when the rift stays open on its own after Suzuki cuts the power.
Shaw claims he saw something inside. Then a distress call comes over the walkie talkie. The voice belongs to the younger version of himself, Wyatt Russell’s voice and all. Young Shaw is calling out to Old Shaw from inside the rift.
