In light of the ongoing scandal involving former NCT member Taeil, significant changes have been made to the group’s public displays, particularly at Incheon Airport. Taeil was recently removed from the group following charges related to a sex crime, and this has led to swift actions from SM Entertainment to address the situation.
The scandal, which first came to public attention on August 28, has resulted in a series of revelations. SM Entertainment stated that they were not informed about the allegations until mid-August, despite the case’s earlier developments.
One of the most visible changes related to this scandal is the alteration of NCT 127‘s display at Incheon Airport. Earlier this year, it was announced that NCT DREAM and NCT 127 would follow aespa as the next SM artists to be featured at the airport. The collaboration included appearances on SMART boarding passes and dedicated displays within the airport premises.
The display for NCT 127 initially showcased concept images from their song “Walk” and solo shots of each member, including Taeil. However, following the scandal, an X user shared that Taeil’s image was replaced by the album’s logo on August 29. Before and after images posted online showed the swift removal of his photo.
Additionally, another image posted on social media depicted a partially torn group photo, suggesting that more images were being removed or altered. The video announcing the display, previously shared by Incheon Airport on Instagram, has also been deleted.
The scandal has also impacted the schedules of other NCT 127 members. For example, Jaehyun‘s solo activities have been postponed in light of the recent developments.
