Haechan Reflects on Eight Years with NCT

Haechan shared his thoughts while on a flight to Colombia for NCT Dream‘s Latam tour. He expressed disbelief that the group had reached its eighth anniversary, reflecting on the journey that brought them to where they are today. Haechan began by acknowledging the overwhelming thoughts that have consumed him recently, stating:

Haechan has reached Bogotá! I had a lot of thoughts on my mind all throughout today, so I thought I would tell some of them to you guys as I eat my inflight meal, haha.

In his message, Haechan emphasized that his initial passion for singing and dancing had evolved into a deeper understanding of the responsibilities that come with being an idol. He admitted that while he is still learning, the most important lesson he has absorbed is the necessity of hard work to stay grounded.

How can it be that this year marks our eighth anniversary… To be honest, I started this job with a love for singing and dancing, but I realized that there are many more things that are more important, and that I have to take into consideration, other than singing and dancing. Of course, I’m still learning, but the thing that I’ve come to learn the most is that we always have to work hard so that we are not deluded… These things aren’t something I created all by myself because I’m so great, but if my members had not been next to me, would I have been able to come this far? Would I be able to have as much fun as I am now? No — would I even have the opportunity to be having fun? Sometimes when I see the members in one file in front of countless NCTzens during shows, I feel kind of weird inside. Like, “Ah, right, the members are celebrities LOL. These people I love and depend on as I joke around and play with them, are really cool people that are loved by so many.” There’s times were I get fascinated like that. I’m able to do all these things because I have such members by my side! Although all these things we have achieved may seem like nothing to some people, we really worked so hard. During these eight years, we released so many albums that I can’t even count them. We’ve worked so hard truly.

Haechan’s Deep Commitment to NCT

Haechan became particularly emotional as he expressed his deep love and gratitude for his group. He promised fans that he would continue to give his all for NCT, emphasizing the significance of the group’s name and legacy.

As I promoted in two groups, I’m really thankful that both groups were loved by many and we were able to be recognized even a little, and win first place many times. But to be honest, most of the time, my schedule was tough physically and mentally. Even so, I am so grateful to my members for always holding me together so that I don’t give up in the midst of that. I’m really so thankful… So much so that my heart clouds…

Haechan’s words resonated with many as he vowed to protect the name NCT alongside his fellow members, asking fans to continue supporting them.

I cannot do things half-heartedly, even just a little. I’m saying this because just as I have been, I will be working really hard in the future because of my members. These three letters, “NCT,” are my everything. It is the name that I have to protect alongside my members. I’ll work hard so I can continue to shine. So everyone, please continue to look over us in the future. Please cheer us on a lot, and please anticipate lots from us. Please love us lots. I’ll really do my best for good music and good performances.
