He gave them a taste of their own medicine.
NCT‘s Renjun gained attention after personally exposing a sasaeng who had been calling him.
A sasaeng is an obsessive fan who acts in ways that invade the privacy of Korean idols, drama actors, or other celebrities.
Renjun has been known to expose sasaengs, and earlier in the month, the idol shared a message of an account promoting the selling of the members’ personal information with the caption, “And since you tried to reveal our numbers first illegally, I’m going to reveal you, too.”
Sadly, it seems like Renjun continues to be the victim of sasaengs, but he’s taking matters into his own hands again.
On June 20, he shared a message on Bubble with a phone number. In the caption, he wrote, “Stop calling me. I am revealing this person’s phone number,” revealing that a fan had gotten a hold of his personal number and had been phoning him.
When the image circulated online, netizens praised Renjun for his actions but also hit back at SM Entertainment for not doing their job by protecting their idols’ privacy.
It’s becoming more common for idols to call out sasaengs but netizens believe it should be the job of the K-Pop companies to protect them.
