Although Wednesday was expelled from Nevermore Academy in the first season, the showrunners confirmed Ortega’s return as the beloved character. They described the season as “delightfully dark, kooky, and mysterious.”

Netflix released a first-look image featuring Jenna Ortega in character. The shot showcases the series’ signature eerie aesthetic, with Ortega standing at the entrance of a graveyard in her iconic black attire and braids.
