In the latest episode of the hit K-drama Nice to Not Meet You, the connection between actor Im Hyun-jun and reporter Wi Jeong-sin deepens amidst professional turmoil. While still unaware they are each other’s anonymous online confidants, Hyun-jun makes a surprising career move to protect Jeong-sin, even as jealousy flares over her colleague Lee Jae-hyung.
Jeong-sin Confronts a Scandal and a Lawsuit
Episode 7 opens with the fallout from Jeong-sin’s published article about veteran actor Jung-ho. The actor publicly claims the woman photographed with him is his biological daughter, not a secret lover, and announces he is suing Jeong-sin for defamation. The situation at Jeong-sin’s office becomes dire, and she realizes the actor is using his political connections to control the narrative.
Refusing to back down, Jeong-sin goes to Jung-ho’s house and waits outside all night to confront him. When he finally agrees to see her, she does not beg for forgiveness. Instead, she warns him that pushing the lawsuit could backfire and put him in a worse situation. Her fearless attitude marks a significant shift, showing how far she is willing to go to protect her career. Later, she is presented with a paternity test that appears to confirm the woman is indeed Jung-ho’s daughter, seemingly validating his claims.
A Complicated Bond and a Jealous Spark
After her farewell party, a drunk Jeong-sin is driven home by Jae-hyung. During the ride, Hyun-jun calls her phone, and Jae-hyung answers, leaving Hyun-jun shocked to hear a man’s voice. The next day, Hyun-jun and Jeong-sin speak on the phone to clear the air. Their conversation goes well, and Hyun-jun is visibly happy to learn that Jeong-sin is not married.
However, a new wave of annoyance hits Hyun-jun later when he sees Jeong-sin having lunch with Jae-hyung. Though they don’t speak, it’s apparent he feels a pang of jealousy. Meanwhile, tension also grows in Jae-hyung’s orbit when Yoon Hwa-young confronts him for giving too much attention to Jeong-sin. In a moment of jealousy, Hwa-young forcibly kisses Jae-hyung, an act witnessed by a shocked office employee.

Hyun-jun later calls Jeong-sin to meet in person. He tells her he feels somewhat responsible for her difficult situation and advises her to apologize to Jung-ho. She refuses and prepares to leave. On her way out, she confronts Hyun-jun about whether he failed her brother at an audition because of her. Though they briefly argue, they quickly make up, and Jeong-sin shares the story of how she became a journalist.
Despite their friction, Hyun-jun takes unexpected action to help her. In a bold move, Hyun-jun decides to join Jung-ho’s agency, a strategic play that forces the veteran actor to drop the lawsuit against Jeong-sin. However, his reasons are not entirely selfless; he plans to take down Jung-ho from within his own camp.
Online Friends Deepen Their Connection
Amidst the real-world chaos, both Hyun-jun and Jeong-sin continue their anonymous conversations through the online selling app, still unaware they are talking to each other. They become closer, sharing more about their personal lives and offering support. This digital friendship provides a quiet counterpoint to their complicated in-person interactions, setting the stage for a dramatic revelation about their identities in future episodes.
