Fans of the popular K-Pop girl group Lovelyz are facing the harsh reality of a potential permanent hiatus, with member Jisoo recently revealing the chances of a reunion concert sit at a mere “5%.”
Lovelyz, formed by Woolim Entertainment in 2014, captured hearts with their steady growth and charming music throughout their career. However, 2021 marked a turning point with all seven members leaving the agency, although with the shared desire to continue promoting together. This determination was evident in their appearance on Naver Now’s Music To You program in November 2022, sparking hope for a potential reunion.
However, Jisoo, who recently embarked on a new path as a streamer on AfreecaTV, painted a less than optimistic picture regarding a full group comeback, specifically a concert. While expressing the group’s shared wish to perform together again, she acknowledged the significant challenges involved.
“I’m not sure if we could make it happen, but we’ve been talking about holding a concert,” Jisoo stated during her stream. “The chances are like five percent, but who knows?”
Despite the low odds, Jisoo remains hopeful, citing the support of Woolim Entertainment’s current CEO, Lee Jung-yeop, who is known to have a positive relationship with the group. However, she emphasized the logistical hurdles, including the members’ busy individual schedules and being signed with different agencies.
“I believe it’s possible because CEO Lee Jung-yeop of Woollim Entertainment loves us a lot,” Jisoo shared. “However, each member is busy with their schedules, and we all are with different agencies. Still, we’ve been doing our best to make it happen.”
While the future remains uncertain for Lovelyz, their dedication to their fans and their unwavering desire to reunite, even if by a slim chance, serves as a testament to their enduring bond and the power of their music. Fans around the world will continue to hold onto the hope of seeing Lovelyz grace the stage together once again, even if the possibility seems distant.
