The music from the popular television series Outlander will soon be heard in concert halls around the world. Outlander in Concert: Echoes Through the Highlands is a new live experience that will bring the show’s iconic Celtic score to audiences, beginning with a world premiere in Scotland in May 2026. The concert will feature composer Bear McCreary‘s music performed alongside visuals from all eight seasons of the series.

What to Expect at the Concert

The concert is designed to be a complete immersion into the world of Outlander. A live ensemble of musicians and vocalists will perform the score using traditional instruments like bagpipes, fiddles, and the hurdy-gurdy. As the music plays, expansive cinematic visuals and scenes from the television series will be shown on a large screen. The performance will include footage from the show’s eighth and final season, which is scheduled to air in March 2026.

The event is described as a “live-to-screen concert,” where the music takes center stage. The curated scenes are selected to be light on dialogue, allowing the orchestral music to drive the emotional storytelling. The concert will last approximately two hours, including a 20-minute intermission.

The Creative Minds Behind the Music

The concert is an officially licensed event created in collaboration with the show’s key creators. Emmy-winning composer Bear McCreary, who has worked on all eight seasons of Outlander, is central to the project. Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts has also helped curate the program.

McCreary shared his enthusiasm for the live event, stating, โ€œNow, with Outlander In Concert: Echoes Through the Highlands, they can experience these sounds in real life, performed by world-class musicians and singers. I am honored to collaborate with visionary showrunner Matthew B. Roberts to create a concert experience for fans that blends the magic of eight beloved seasons of storytelling into one unforgettable evening.โ€

Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts added that McCrearyโ€™s music โ€œhas elevated our show, deepening the emotional connection between audiences and Jamie and Claire. Weโ€™ve put together a beautiful set list, and I canโ€™t wait for everyone to experience the music live and feel its magic firsthand.โ€

Tour Schedule and Ticket Information

The global tour will kick off with its world premiere at Usher Hall in Edinburgh, Scotland, on May 30, 2026. This date is strategically chosen just before the annual “World Outlander Day” on June 1. Tickets for the Edinburgh concert went on sale in November 2025.

While the Edinburgh event is the only one currently announced, the tour is planned to include multiple cities worldwide. The official website and announcements indicate that more dates and locations will be revealed in the future. A limited number of VIP packages for the Edinburgh premiere are available, which include access to a post-show party, an exclusive poster, and priority merchandise access.

A Celebration for Fans

The concert is presented as a celebration for the show’s dedicated global fanbase as the television series concludes. It will allow audiences to relive the journey of Claire and Jamie Fraser through music. The Outlander soundtrack has been a major success, generating hundreds of millions of streams globally. The famous theme song, “The Skye Boat Song,” alone has accumulated over 49 million plays.

Jennifer Rogers Doyle of Sony Pictures Television called the concert a “fitting way to continue the Outlander legacy and celebrate the passion that has made the show a global phenomenon.” The production is being handled by GEA Live in association with Road CO Entertainment.
