The series will be released over four weeks, with four episodes dropping every Friday, starting March 7, 2025, and ending March 28, 2025. The 16-episode drama is divided into four acts, each representing a season: spring, summer, fall, and winter. This structure promises a gradual unfolding of the story, keeping viewers engaged week after week.
Director’s Confidence in the Lead Duo
Director Kim Won Seok expressed his enthusiasm for the project at the Next on Netflix 2025 Korea event. He believes that Park Bo Gum and IU will create an incredibly entertaining and compelling pairing. He hinted that Park Bo Gum will show a previously unseen side of himself, while IU will showcase her established charm and even more.
“When Life Gives You Tangerines” is written by renowned screenwriter Lim Sang Chun (Fight My Way, When the Camellia Blooms) and directed by Kim Won Seok (Misaeng, Signal, My Mister). The drama follows Ae Sun and Gwan Sik as they navigate life’s challenges on Jeju Island. IU plays Ae Sun, a strong-willed young woman, while Park Bo Gum plays Gwan Sik, a quiet and reliable man.
The series premieres on Netflix on March 7, 2025.
