The cast of Gyeongseong Creature recently shared their thoughts on Season 2 of the Netflix series.
On September 25, Park Seo Joon, Han So Hee, Lee Moo Saeng, Bae Hyeon Seong, and director Jung Dong Yoon appeared at a press conference to talk about the drama’s next chapter.
Plot Overview: Season 1 and Season 2
The first season of Gyeongseong Creature was set in 1945 during Korea’s Japanese colonial period. The story now shifts to Seoul in 2024, where Yoon Chae Ok (Han So Hee) meets a new character, Ho Jae (Park Seo Joon), who resembles Jang Tae Sang, the character Park Seo Joon played in Season 1.
Chae Ok, after consuming Najin, a type of parasitic worm, now lives in modern Seoul without aging or dying. Park Seo Joon returns as Ho Jae, who works for Bugang Sagang, a private detective agency. Meanwhile, Lee Moo Saeng joins as a new character leading the Kurokos, an elite group of secret agents, with Bae Hyeon Seong playing Seung Jo, a member of the Kurokos, known for using his tentacles in action scenes.
Cast Reflections on Filming
Reflecting on the second season, Park Seo Joon said, “It feels surreal that Season 2 is finally coming out. It was tough filming, but we had a lot of fun. I hope everyone enjoys it, and I’d really appreciate it if viewers could rewatch Season 1.”
Han So Hee expressed her excitement for working with new co-stars, saying, “It feels like I’m presenting a whole new project as I’m now here with other cast members.”
Changes in the New Season
Discussing how the show evolves in Season 2, Park Seo Joon explained, “The modern setting meant I had to change my styling and the way I approach the character. The action scenes are more intense and visually exciting.”
Han So Hee added, “My character can’t reveal her identity, so I have a darker style this season. There are more action scenes, and I had to overcome my fear of heights for wire work. I practiced a lot to make my movements more precise and powerful.”
Chemistry and Relationships in Season 2
Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee also commented on the romance between their characters. “It’s even better in Season 2. We got closer personally, and the modern setting made the dialogue more natural,” Park Seo Joon said.
Han So Hee noted, “From Chae Ok’s perspective, meeting Ho Jae feels like a reunion. Ho Jae looks so much like Tae Sang, which brings out a lot of emotions for her. Viewers will experience some heart-wrenching moments.”
New Faces and High Praise
Lee Moo Saeng, a new addition to the cast, impressed his co-stars with his performance. “His dialogue delivery and expressions were amazing,” Park Seo Joon praised.
Lee Moo Saeng commented on the grand scale of Season 2: “I was drawn in by the expanded plot and bold progression. The tension between those trying to stop this secret world and those controlling it is portrayed brilliantly.”
Bae Hyeon Seong also expressed his gratitude for working with the cast. “They guided me through every detail, and I learned so much from their emotional depth and action scenes.”
What to Expect in Season 2
With action-packed scenes, deeper emotional moments, and strong character development, Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 is set to deliver an even more thrilling experience for viewers.
The second season of Gyeongseong Creature will premiere on September 27, 2024.
