Prabhas’ much-awaited science-fiction film “Kalki 2898 AD” has made a strong impression at the box office, collecting nearly Rs 150 crore in India within its first two days. However, the movie’s earnings saw a significant drop on its second day compared to its opening day.

Kalki 2898 AD: Big Debut, Big Expectations

Directed by Nag Ashwin, “Kalki 2898 AD” opened strong on June 27th across India and worldwide. The film, which blends elements of the Hindu epic Mahabharata with a futuristic setting, is a mega-budget production reportedly costing a staggering Rs 600 crore. The Malayalam version earned a total of Rs 4 crore in two days, while the Kannada version brought in Rs 0.35 crore.

“Kalki 2898 AD” boasts a stellar cast alongside Prabhas. Deepika Padukone plays the role of Sumati, while Amitabh Bachchan portrays the character of The Immortal Ashwatthama. The film also features renowned actors like Kamal Haasan as the villain Yaskin, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, and Shobhana. There are even special cameo appearances by Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda, and Mrunal Thakur.
