Prabhas‘ upcoming horror comedy The Raja Saab is rumored to have a runtime of 3 hours and 30 minutes, similar to blockbusters like RRR and Animal. Director Maruthi hinted at the extended duration during the film’s teaser launch event, sparking discussions among fans.
The teaser for The Raja Saab was released on June 16, 2025, generating massive buzz. During the event, director Maruthi was asked why the film is releasing in only five languages instead of targeting international audiences with an English version. His response revealed the movie’s unusually long runtime.
“The film has a runtime of 3 hours and 30 minutes, which is against the usual norm in international cinema.”
This puts The Raja Saab in the same league as RRR (3 hours 2 minutes) and Animal (3 hours 21 minutes), both of which were major box office successes despite their lengthy durations. While some fans worry about pacing, others believe Prabhas’ star power and the film’s genre-bending approach could make it work.
The movie follows a young man who targets an ancestral property for a quick profit but encounters a vengeful spirit. Prabhas plays a triple role, adding to the film’s scale. The cast includes Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, and Zarina Wahab. Rumors suggest Nayanthara may have a special appearance, though this remains unconfirmed.
Originally set for an April 2025 release, The Raja Saab was postponed due to post-production delays. It is now scheduled for December 5, 2025. The film marks Prabhas’ return to horror-comedy after a long gap, and its extended runtime indicates a grand narrative approach.
Prabhas is currently busy with multiple projects, including Fauji, a period action drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, and Spirit, a cop thriller with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. His recent sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD was a major hit, and fans are eager to see how The Raja Saab compares.

Long runtimes have become a trend in Indian cinema, with films like Baahubali 2 (2 hours 47 minutes) and Salaar (2 hours 55 minutes) also opting for extended storytelling. Whether The Raja Saab justifies its length will be clear upon release.
