“Queen of Tears” Reigns Supreme, Dethrones “Reply 1988” in tvN Ratings Race
tvN’s “Queen of Tears” has ascended the throne to become the third highest-rated drama in the network’s history. The popular romance drama, featuring the stellar performances of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, has captivated audiences nationwide, reaching its highest viewership ratings yet on April 7.
According to Nielsen Korea, the latest episode of “Queen of Tears” scored an impressive average nationwide rating of 19.0 percent. This achievement not only marks a new personal best for the show but also makes it the most-watched program of any kind to air on Sunday.
The drama’s soaring popularity has led it to overtake “Reply 1988,” thereby securing its spot as the third highest-rated tvN drama to date. Currently, only the smash hits “Crash Landing on You” and “Goblin” stand in its way, both of which have managed to break the elusive 20 percent mark.
In other news, KBS 2TV’s new romance drama “Beauty and Mr. Romantic” also experienced a rise in viewership, achieving an average nationwide rating of 16.0 percent for the night. Meanwhile, tvN’s “Hide” wrapped up the first half of its run on a positive note, climbing to a nationwide average of 5.0 percent for its sixth episode.
As “Queen of Tears” continues its reign, we extend our congratulations to the cast and crew for their remarkable achievement. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to bring you the latest in entertainment news.
