THE BOYZ’s Ju Haknyeon isn’t the first idol connected to former Japanese adult star Kirara Asuka. A past tabloid report resurfaced showing Hey! Say! JUMP’s Inoo Kei in a similar situation, but his agency denied any romantic involvement.
Earlier this week, Ju Haknyeon was removed from THE BOYZ after reports surfaced of him meeting Kirara Asuka, a retired Japanese adult actress, in Tokyo. Witnesses claimed they were seen drinking together, with moments of physical closeness. His agency, One Hundred Label, terminated his contract, calling the incident “severe.”
However, this isn’t the first time Kirara Asuka has been linked to a male idol. A 2017 tabloid report from Shukan Josei showed photos of Inoo Kei from Hey! Say! JUMP with Asuka in Singapore. The two were spotted at Marina Bay Sands, with guests reporting they appeared cozy in a jacuzzi together.
Johnny & Associates, Inoo Kei’s agency, quickly denied any romantic relationship. They stated the two first met at a friend’s dinner party a year earlier and their Singapore encounter was coincidental. Kirara Asuka’s agency supported this claim, though she remained silent when questioned by reporters.
“According to Johnny’s Jimusho, the two first met each other about a year ago at a friend’s dinner party. They then happened to have met in Singapore, by chance, and went to the pool together, but they are not dating or in any sort of relationship.”
Unlike Ju Haknyeon’s case, Inoo Kei faced no career repercussions. The recent scandal has reignited discussions about past idol controversies involving Asuka.
Korean netizens reacted strongly to Haknyeon’s situation, with many expressing shock. Some compared the agency responses, noting how Johnny & Associates handled Inoo Kei’s case differently.
“It’s absolutely disillusioning for him to be tied to a prnstar. The company works fast.”*
“Withdrawal and even voiding the official contract?? Damn, no wonder they couldn’t tell the fans about it right away…”
Kirara Asuka retired from the adult industry in 2020 and transitioned into influencing. Her past connections with idols continue to spark debates about industry standards and public perception.
