“Robin Hood” is available exclusively on MGM+. Viewers can subscribe directly to the MGM+ streaming service.
The show is also available through MGM+’s channel on Amazon Prime Video Channels in some regions, including the UK. Many live TV streaming services, such as Sling TV and Fubo, also offer MGM+ as part of their channel lineups.
The Story So Far
The series presents a fresh take on the classic legend, set in 1186 England following the Norman conquest. Jack Patten plays Rob, a Saxon forester’s son who becomes an outlaw after his father is executed by the Norman elite. Lauren McQueen is Marian, a Norman noblewoman who joins Rob’s fight for justice, working from within the system.
The creators have stated they aimed for a more grounded and historically authentic version of the story. Director John English said the goal was to make it “feel human, relatable, a little bit more grounded, a little bit more historically accurate than most of the Robin Hoods that weโve seen.”
The conflict is not just about wealth, but also about culture and power. Sean Bean, who plays the Sheriff of Nottingham, highlighted this tension, noting, “Itโs totally different religions really because they’re pagans, the Anglo-Saxons, and that’s a thorn in the side of the Normans.”
What to Expect in Episode 5
While specific plot details for episode 5 are under wraps, the episode title “Go Back to Them” suggests a focus on loyalty and difficult choices. The end of episode 3 saw Rob, now a wanted man, gaining his first loyal follower in Little John after John had a spiritual vision. They fled into the forest with the Miller siblings after Ralph killed the Earl of Huntingdon’s son in self-defense.
Episode 4, “The Cause of This Unrest,” saw Rob lead a daring heist to steal the bounty placed on his own head by the Sheriff. Episode 5 will likely deal with the aftermath of this act and the growing pursuit by the authorities. Meanwhile, Marian’s story in London involves her serving Queen Eleanor, played by Connie Nielsen, and navigating the dangerous politics of the royal court.
