What Happened Before in Episode 8

The previous episode ended with Rob and his Merry Men successfully rescuing a group of Saxon hostages, including his uncle Gamewell, from a trap set by the Sheriff. However, the victory came at a cost and with hidden consequences.

One of the freed hostages was revealed to be a spy for the Sheriff, creating a future threat from within. During the mission, one of Rob’s young allies, Henry Miller, was lost. Rob also discovered that a man named Alwin had betrayed his father, Hugh Locksley. After initially showing restraint, Rob killed Alwin when he was attacked. The episode closed with Rob’s ally Rosemary vowing revenge on the Sheriff, and Queen Eleanor urging Prince Richard to return to England to restore order.

Story Details for Episode 9 “I Choose You”

The official synopsis for the new episode shows Rob reacting with intense anger to the events of the last chapter. Grieving the death of Henry Miller, Rob’s response is direct and violent: he burns down Warwick’s manor and kills Lord Warwick. This act of personal vengeance has immediate consequences for his band of rebels.

Rob’s actions create difficulties for the group, and Tuck opposes him and leaves.

This major disagreement leads Friar Tuck to leave the group, creating a critical split in the Merry Men and challenging Rob’s leadership. Meanwhile, the danger escalates at court. Prince John uncovers Marian’s secret role as a spy, forcing her to flee for her safety. She escapes with urgent news: King Henry has dispatched the feared knight Guy of Gisborne to Nottingham with a single mission—to kill Rob. The arrival of this notorious enemy raises the threat level for Rob and his remaining allies to its highest point yet.
