The first season of MGM+’s Robin Hood series ends this week with a tense finale. Episode 10, titled “One Enemy Falls, Another Rises,” is scheduled for release on Sunday, December 28, 2025. This episode concludes a ten-episode season that started with a two-part premiere on November 2.

The story reaches a critical point. King Henry II has sent the deadly Guy of Gisborne to eliminate Robin Hood for good. At the same time, the Sheriff of Nottingham is making his own plans against both Gisborne and Rob. Marian, whose role as a spy was exposed, is taking extreme risks to gather information that could save the rebellion. With the title hinting at a shifting threat, the finale promises to decide the fate of Robin Hood and his band of outlaws.

Other key characters include Marcus Fraser as Little John, Angus Castle-Doughty as Friar Tuck, Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, and Graeme Thomas King as Prince John.

Episode 9, which aired on December 21, set the stage for the final conflict. Rob, grieving the loss of one of his men, attacked and killed Lord Warwick, an act that caused Friar Tuck to leave the group. At the same time, Prince John discovered Marian was spying for Queen Eleanor. Marian barely escaped and fled to Sherwood Forest to warn Rob with critical news: King Henry II has dispatched the legendary warrior Guy of Gisborne to hunt him down.

This leaves multiple threats converging on Robin Hood. He must prepare his outlaws for a direct confrontation with Gisborne, deal with the Sheriff’s constant schemes, and see if Marian can find a way to help them survive.

The finale will bring all the season’s storylines to a head. The main conflict involves Rob and his band preparing for a last stand against Guy of Gisborne, whose arrival changes everything.

Marian’s mission is especially perilous. She must secretly enter the home of her father, the Earl of Huntingdon, to find any information that could give Rob an advantage.

Meanwhile, the Sheriff of Nottingham is not a passive observer. He is actively plotting against Gisborne, hoping that eliminating the king’s agent will bring him royal reward. The title, “One Enemy Falls, Another Rises,” suggests that even if Rob survives this battle, new dangers will emerge to take the place of old ones.

The series has received generally positive feedback from critics and audiences. It holds a 77% critic score and a 79% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. As of now, MGM+ has not announced a decision regarding a second season.
