Seohyun, Taecyeon, Kwon Han Sol, and the cast of “The First Night With The Duke” have praised their teamwork and chemistry ahead of the drama’s premiere. The fantasy romance series is set to debut on June 11, 2025, on KBS2 and will be available for global audiences on Viki.
The drama follows a modern college student whose soul enters the body of Cha Sun Chaek, a minor character in a historical romance novel. After accidentally spending the night with the novel’s male lead, Yi Beon, she disrupts the original storyline. The cast recently shared their experiences filming together.
Seohyun, who plays Cha Sun Chaek, talked about working with Taecyeon. “Since we spent many years promoting as idols in the same era, there’s a bond that feels like camaraderie,” she said. “He brought great energy to the set and made it easy to act comfortably.” When asked to rate their chemistry, she joked, “It’s a 10 out of 10.”
Taecyeon, who plays the cold yet charismatic Yi Beon, also had positive things to say. “This was my first time acting with Seohyun, and it was really fun,” he shared. “She uplifts everyone around her, and I received positive energy from her.”
Kwon Han Sol, who plays the original female lead Jo Eun Ae, gave her co-stars full marks. “Seohyun and Taecyeon kindly waited and encouraged me to truly become Jo Eun Ae,” she said. She also praised Seo Bum June and Ji Hye Won for their performances.
Seo Bum June, playing the second male lead Jung Soo Gyeom, recalled filming challenges. “We often had to endure cold weather in the mountains,” he said. “But we leaned on each other, and there was never a shortage of laughter.”
Ji Hye Won, who plays the villain Do Hwa Seon, expressed gratitude for the cast and crew. “It’s rare to work with such good people, but this drama was that rare case,” she said. “Everyone was warm and full of good humor.”
“The First Night With The Duke” is based on a popular web novel and webtoon by Hwang Do Tol. The story blends fantasy, romance, and comedy as the characters navigate a world where the original plot has been completely altered. Fans of historical dramas and romantic comedies are eagerly awaiting its release.
The drama will air every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:50 PM KST. International viewers can watch it with English subtitles on Viki. A teaser trailer has already been released, showcasing the chemistry between Seohyun and Taecyeon.
